About this listen

To: Jackson (Not My Prince Charming) Dumont

From: Lola Pappas

What did you think was going to happen when you came back to Calico Cove after being gone for years? That I would forget how you were my best friend before you became my worst enemy? Or did you want me to pretend that night at the bonfire when you humiliated me in front of everyone didn't happen?

I don’t care that you’re handsome as sin and rich AF, or even that you're pretending to worry about my family's diner—I’m not falling for your charm again.

To: Lola

From: Jackson

Please let me prove myself to you. I can still be your Prince Charming.

Not My Prince Charming is a Cinderella retelling including one nasty stepmom, two clueless step-sisters, a godfather with gold eye shadow, a best friend lost and found, hot action on a boat, and a LOT of groveling.

Great story, but low steam

The storyline is a great one with of course the 2nd chance at love theme. However, if you read the first book, this one doesn’t have the fire, steam level as the first. Also, the first characters have no role in this one which is surprising since Lola played an important role as Jolie’s best friend.

Good story, party good narration.

The story is good, and the female narrator was decent, but the male narrator was not good. I don’t know for sure how to describe his voice, tired, bored or high maybe?? So just really lacking while he narrated the main character, but when he did other male voices is was just not a good voice change and when he did female voices it was absolultely horrible. I honestly didn’t know if I was going to be able to finish the book after his first turn narrating, but I liked the story enough to bear it.
He was a little better near the end. At least he got a little bit of emotion in his voice when the story got really emotional, but not enough that I’d call him good.
I think the best thing I can say about his narration is that he made the female narrator sound better. She was decent, but not the best I’ve heard, but after him she was like a balm to my ears. I would have rather had her narrate the whole thing. She did a good job of all of the characters, female as well as male.
As much as I liked the story and want to get the next one, I don’t think I can listen to him again.

Sweet story

The story was very sweet. The narration was almost enough to make me stop listening. The female voice was fine, but the male voice was grating. The story mostly made up for it, although it was a bit thin in places.

Loved the story

Hated the male voice doing the women’s lines. It made the women sound like blue haired old ladies with a lisp. Total turn off

The Love Was Always There

This is my first time listening to Hailey Shore, and I'm glad I did. I will definitely continue with the series. I'm not a big fan of the enemies to lovers trope but this one was done so well.

Cute story

Cute story but Wayne’s narration was lacking and his female voice was horrendous. Ruined the story for me
