About this listen

From the bestselling author of Covent Garden in the Snow, this is the most romantic and charming book you’ll read this Christmas…

A Notting Hill nativity… what could go wrong?

Viola Smith plays the viola in an orchestra (yes really!) but this year she's been asked to stretch her musical talents to organising Notting Hill's local nativity.

Nate Williams isn't looking forward to Christmas but as his small daughter, Grace, has the starring role in the show, he's forced to stop being a Grinch and volunteer with Viola.

With the sparks between them hotter than the chestnuts roasting in Portobello market, Nate and Viola can't deny their feelings. And as the snow starts to fall over London, they find themselves trapped together in more ways than one…

This is a gorgeously heartwarming and uplifting Christmas romance, perfect for fans of any Hugh Grant romcom… From Four Weddings and a Funeral to Notting Hill!

It took a little bit for me to get into but once it got going the story was so sweet and cute. An overall feel good story.

Great story for the holiday season. Light and heartwarming. Viola was an interesting relatable character. I especially loved her natural maternal instincts. This story was mostly about Grace, Nates daughter who had been let down and abandoned by her mother. Viola sweeps in and is a constant presence.

The fate they all share was very heartwarming and sweet. I just felt that this story was missing something though. I'm not sure what exactly. Maybe more lovely moments with Nate or memorable character arcs. The music and play where nice touches. I did love the different take on the nativity play.

Possibly it was all too predictable. You are consistently shown Viola as being the complete opposite of the mother. Everything the mother lacks Viola has in strides. It was a nice story though. I did enjoy it.

Heartwarming and relatable but missing something

There are a few cozy Christmas scenes, but the rest of the book is incredibly slow and boring and it goes on for eleven hours! Also, it constantly stated that the main character, Viola, was so caring. However, I felt her character went way beyond caring and came off as a doormat.

Boring
