About this listen

When a Chinese spymaster uses an Islamic terrorist to attack Western interests in the Pacific, a US Navy submarine is sent in to prevent disaster.

Mustafa al Shatar, one of the world’s most dangerous terrorists, lives only for vengeance.

Indonesian Navy Admiral Suluvana plans to overthrow the government and establish an Islamic state.

And Liu Pen, spymaster for the People’s Republic of China, plans to use them both to solidify China’s grip on power.

From a secret island base in the Java Sea, Liu Pen’s research team is developing a genetically engineered version of smallpox. A dangerous biological weapon to be unleashed upon the West.

But when US intelligence catches wind of the plans, Commander Joe Hunter and his crew aboard the USS San Francisco are deployed to neutralize the threat...before catastrophe strikes.

Former US Navy submarine commander George Wallace is co-author of the best-selling Hunter Killer series.

Great story but Narrator boring

As a fellow Cold War 640 class submariner, I enjoy these books and the stories. Great technical details. Unfortunately, choosing a narrator that is literally reading the script in a monotone flat voice makes it hard to stay focused on the story! Hopefully other books recognize how important this is to the overall success of the book!

Good story, terrible narrator

Good submarine yarn by a former sub commander, but the narrator was the worst so far on Audible. Poor pace, poor acting, and many mispronounced words.

Good Story, HORRIBLE narrator

Good storyline. Narrator makes every character sound like a Colombian drug lord with an Arkansas accent. Can’t do female characters at all. Horrible, just horrible

Great Story Telling!

If you could sum up Operation Golden Dawn in three words, what would they be?

Worst narration in history

The story is ok but it's sunk by the terrible narrator who reads slow and has no inflection. This ruined the book for me. I would not suggest anyone get this book.
