Diving right back in after finishing the first book in this series I continued to enjoy Galley’s take on the genre and world building.

As relationships are formed and strengthened (or weakened) I have enjoyed discovering more about the characters and the magic, the territories and the alliances that exist in Emaneska.

The narrator is fabulous!

And it continues …

The book is just good. Keeps your attention and the narrator is awesome. Fully intend to finish the series.

I love the narrator, story is awesome!

I want to like this series. I really started getting annoyed by the narrator's style near the end of the first book. I took a break and came back for the second book, but I just can't do it. His accent is fine and the accents he does for the characters are very good, but the non-conversation parts have an odd choice of inflection and word stress points that I can't not hear now.

Can't get past the narrator.

This book doesn’t disappoint. Continues the story without any lag. Can’t wait for the final books!

Excellent Second Book

I liked this one better than the first. Again, some predictability and some wtf? motivations, but the story satisfies.

Great sequel

I love the blending of mythologies twisted into something new. Overall I think this series is getting better. Excited for the next book

Nothin happens the way YOU want and I like it

Everyone has their favorite narrator, RC Bray, Jim Dale, Michael Kramer, Tim Gerard Reynolds, you get the idea. I've never listened to Steven Cree before but his work is excellent and, because of his accent, very unique. He's the only Scottish narrator I've heard of on Audible.

This is the second book in the series so don't start here. Get the first book, let your ears adjust to the accent, and enjoy.

Great narrator

We’ll done, plenty of twists and turns in the plot. Can’t wait to begin the next in the series!

I’m hooked!

It’s not often I have to stop listening to a book, but this is just terrible. Cool idea poorly executed. You can’t relate to any of the characters. Seems like the book was written by a child.

Couldn’t finish it

This story had just enough to keep me listening, but barely. I imagine many listeners will enjoy it more than I as I am hard to please.

Tolkien this is not.
