Wonderful

This was such a neat story. It took a bit to get into, as the story doesn't follow a directly linear path, but once I did (about the time they get to the other planet with the elves) it was wonderful. The characters are well-developed and the worldbuilding, where needed, was really good. I also kind of liked that one character never gets a name (Jack@$$ doesn't count) and is simply referred to as "The Man" because it kind of reminded me of the Doctor in Doctor Who.

The narration was ... okay. This was my second time listening to this narrator and I can say that this one was much better than the first. However, it still was not great. The narrator, to my ear, seems to speak as if having recovered from a speech; there's a slight slurring to the words. It is slight, and others may not notice it at all, but it's enough to confirm for me that I do not care for books narrated by her.

As a result, while I may read this story in the future, because I did enjoy the story, I will not be listening to the audiobook again.

Panglossian

Nicely written story full of a wide range of characters that keep it interesting. The storyline is is interesting and unique once you are able to keep up because the beginning will confuse you on how she goes back and forth. I received this book from Audiobooks Unleashed and this is my honest unbiased review that I am voluntarily leaving of my own volition.

An interesting take on Corrupt Utopian Sci Fi

Welcome to Quee, a Utopian society hiding a dark secret. A secret so dark that only 20 people on the WHOLE PLANET dont know it?

All In all the book is an interesting survey of Sci Fi tropes and would probiably make for a pretty good episode of Dr. Who.
It does spend more time than I would like on details, and I found several of the characters peraonalities quite enoying.
All in all, pretty good for a first book.

As for the audio book, Darla has a wonderfull voice and successfully made each chatacter unique. Her caidance isnt the best, and I think the audio would benefit from a few more takes, but it is good quality and a soothing voice.
