About this listen

Humanity's Exodus is about to begin.

When half of mankind revolts and demands more opportunity, those at the top decide on a compromise: They will build the first colony ships and allow the rest to discover new worlds and start over.

Twelve ships are built. The first is called the Orion.

Many are eager to go, but only 100,000 are chosen for each vessel. Far from Earth, a new life awaits, and it promises the prosperity they've always wanted.

But still, resistance stirs.

There are those who are eager to sabotage this new expansion effort, threatening the promise of a new life. As Orion moves through the void of space, towards a distant world, its passengers must fight for survival in an unprecedented conflict.

Win or lose, their future will be forever changed.

Experience a sprawling galactic tale in this first entry to The Orion Colony series. If you're a fan of Firefly, Battlestar Galactica, or Indiana Jones, you'll love this epic, space opera adventure.

Nothing new here

Fairly competent entry-level sci-fi, but not worth the purchase for serious fans. Very derivative with no new concepts and lots of hand-waved technological advancements. Ray Porter is always good though.

Another fun perspective in the Renegade universe!

The narrator does a very good job. I always appreciate when a narrator can do different voices and make them sound good. This is another fun story in the Renegade universe from a different and enjoyable angle. Easy read/listen and fun adventure!

Ray porter

I really enjoy anything Ray Porter reads. He adds a certain flare to his characters and makes whatever he reads exciting. This book is very good and am looking forward to the others in this series especially if Ray Porter is reading them.

Beginning of a Great Adventure

Orion Colony is a great start to what looks to be a great series. Lots of adventure. Lots of intrigue. All woven into a story that keeps you jumping. This was one I did not want to put down.

Ray Porter did his usual excellent job narrating this story. Good pacing and voices.

Will definitely be looking into the rest of this series.

Terrific

Real people, believable events, you get involved - at least I did. Thank goodness the rest of the series is available NOW.

Interesting Prequel to Renegade Star Series

JN Chaney & Yanez have worked to create a great standalone backstory to the Renegade Star series.

good story

good story, great narrarator, I just wish the length of each book was longer, I don't want to use my credit for something that could be combined into 2 books.

Part one written to sell part two.

Part one written to sell part two. For me part one doesn't stand alone.
Read kind of drone like.
Very interesting story plot.
Mid way through Part one I decided I was not going to buy Part two but in spite of the drone like Performance and the non-ending (not really even a good sub-plot ending, just left me hanging) the characters were interesting enough and the story seems to have so much potential I am investing another credit in Part two.

If the drone like performance was improved I would have given this story a four star rating. If it had a good sub-plot ending with a better Performance I would give it a five star rating. SO MUCH POTENTIAL!

Decent story, mediocre writing

The story line was interesting, and I'll likely continue the series. The writing itself was pedestrian at best. Good performance by Ray Porter.
