About this listen

Some Amish communities aren’t so cozy. Paper Roses is the electrifying new addition to the Serenity’s Plain Secrets’ mystery/crime thriller series.

While an archeological team digs up Blood Rock’s sinister past, a forbidden romance begins, and Serenity races to stop a serial killer before he strikes again.

When the mutilated corpse of a young Amish woman is discovered in Blood Rock, Sheriff Serenity Adams embarks on her most terrifying case yet, facing a killer unlike anything she’s seen before. Law enforcement and the Amish join forces to unravel the truth and find the person terrorizing the community, and just when Serenity thinks she’s solved the case, she finds out that the nightmare is far from over.

Excellent!!

Love everything I've read from Karen Ann Hopkins; Paper Roses is no exception. This novel is a perfect blend of two of my favorite genres, Amish fiction and crime mystery. Hopkins does a good job describing the scene for her readers so we can picture it in our minds. I can't wait to read the next installment from Hopkins!

Both narrarators read their parts very well. I've only listened to a small handful of audio books. I'm impressed when narrarators can keep the different voices for the characters the same throughout the book.

Loved Paper Roses by Karen Ann Hopkins

This story kept me guessing, I would think that I had figured out who was responsible for the murders and then another prospect came to light. I loved how it was not just a mystery but had some romance as well. The story ends with you wanting to find out what lies ahead in the next book. I loved it!!

This Was No Mystery For Me

Most of the book was CJ talking in her head about her attraction to an Amish man and Serenity was not great either. I found that it was like reading a young adult novel in many ways and I usually like Brittany Pressley's narration, but something was just off for me. It seemed rudimentary and no real depth in the story. I want more mystery not young adult romance. No more of these for me.
