About this listen

"Glass weaves a taut web of suspicion, murder and revenge in this chilling tale."—Liv Constantine, internationally bestselling author of The Last Mrs. Parrish, on Someone's Listening

From the Edgar Award–nominated author of On a Quiet Street comes a shocking thriller about secrets…and the lengths some people will go to keep them.

Grace Holloway keeps to herself. Since narrowly escaping death at the hands of the man who kidnapped her, she’s thrown herself into the small inn she runs in Rock Harbor, Maine. It’s quiet, quaint and, in the off-season, completely isolated—the perfect place for Grace to keep her own secrets.

But Grace isn’t the only one with something to hide, and Rock Harbor isn’t just a sleepy vacation town. Someone is taking young women—girls who look an awful lot like Grace did when she was kidnapped so many years ago.

When a surge of disappearances brings the investigation to her door, Grace finds herself unwillingly at the center of it all and doing everything she can to keep her distance. Because Grace knows something…something that could change everything. And when the truth comes to light, getting justice for the vanished might be more than Grace can handle alone…

Excellent Book

The storyline gave solid twists and turns without being predictable or contrite. Definitely worth a listen!

Not bad, but not great

A decent book to pass the time, but it had some narrative devices I didn’t care for. The book is told from a few different POVs, with several chapters ending on cliffhangers. Then the next chapter switches to a different character’s plot line, totally killing the momentum of the story for me. There’s also a point towards the end when one character figures out who the villain is - a fact that this character mentions over and over in their narration - but they always decide they won’t reveal who it is (to us or the other characters) just yet. This in itself was frustrating and felt like a cheap ploy to build mystery and tension. I think this author has a lot of potential, but needs to figure out how to structure things better to avoid using these kinds of tactics.

What a ride!

The twists and turns really kept me guessing. I’d think I knew what was coming and then something I didn’t expect happened. It came together so well. Great listen!

Good twisty ending

Love the narrator, she’s always great. The last couple hours were very good and exciting- loved the end twist. Characters are likable and there were a few surprisingly funny moments.

Average

A well done but not special lost person mystery. The characters are fairly well developed

Lackluster. Nice voice acting

My first time around I ended up losing focus for this book and left unfinished for 6 months. It lacked those punchy unexpected twists. The story was told from a lot of points of view, not really giving time to empathize with any one main character. The villain didn’t have any depth he just dies. Then the book just ends… anti-climatic.

REALLY GOOD STORY

This was a well written, engrossing story that keeps you guessing! In the audible version the male voices were not my favorites!

Interesting story

Narrator ruined the book for me. I'll go to the public library to see if they have it in hardback.
