About this listen

Handsome, rich, and charming, Leopold Davenport has always been the life of the party. But when he takes things too far, his father banishes the 27-year-old from his homeland of Avonia for six months. With nowhere to turn, Leo moves to Santa Valentina Island, where his sister-in-law helps him find work as a bellboy at the Paradise Bay Resort. Little does he know that dealing with people's baggage will make him examine his own.

Twenty-six-year-old single mum Brianna Lewis (a.k.a. Bree) doesn't believe in fairy tales - not after being abandoned by the father of daughter, Isabelle. Suddenly finding herself in dire straits, she converts her garden shed into a rental suite in hopes of climbing out of the financial hole she's in. But when the only person interested in renting the suite turns out to be to Leopold Davenport, the ridiculously good-looking co-worker she loves to hate, she knows she must choose between being happy and being broke.

Can Leopold make the leap from ultimate playboy to become the man Bree needs in her life? Will Bree allow herself to believe in happily-ever-afters or will she play it safe and hang a do-not-disturb sign on her heart?

I laughed from start to finish. What a fun & highly romantic love story. You will fall head over hills for the characters, everyone of them!
Outstanding narration!

Best of the series so far

I like for narrators that sound like they are acting instead of just reading. Also some authors have basically the same theme in a series, but this one was different but about familiar characters. I appreciate that.

The performance was great!

This was an interesting tale about the family dynamics of the two main characters. Our female lead has issues with trying to belong and our male lead just really needs to grow up. There are laughs and tears and mean girls and supportive relatives.

I love Leopold and Brianna! They are so sweet and she is the perfect ying to his yang (Thank you aunt Dolores)!!! I would be most interested in Melanie Summers wrote another book following up to this one! It would be very lovely if Brianna and Leopold gave Isabell a brother or sister or both!!!

So good

Just what I was looking for .... it's a light, funny story. The narrators did a great job.

I listened to the book in one day :)

I loved this story. Funny, engaging, just a light hearted read. So far her books have been a great entertaining book.

The premise of the story was good, and the only reason I kept listening was because of the female narrator. The male narrator sounded like a VERY old man. There are some older men whose voices still sound sexy, intriguing and spot on for their character; this isn’t that case. It was totally off-putting. I couldn’t wait until the narration turned to her. She did a much better job of the ‘male’ voice than she did. This wasn’t the case in her previous books. Disappointed.

Male narration terrible
