Publisher's summary

Every pastor knows what it's like to be criticized. But how does he respond? And how does he offer constructive criticism of his own?

With wisdom and charity, Joel Beeke and Nick Thompson answer these questions and more. The Bible is full of critics, and it gives us practical principles for responding to criticism, offering criticism, and creating a healthy church culture. As Beeke and Thompson unfold a theological vision for coping with criticism in the gospel ministry, you will be strengthened, encouraged, and equipped.

Wonderful audiobook!

I highly recommend this audiobook for any pastor, pastor-in-training, or lay church member. Good biblical-theological and practical insight about criticism.
There were just a few kinks with the audio repeating itself a few times, but other than that it’s a great book to learn from by way of audiobook!

Edifying Words for a Needy Pastor.

Beeke and Thompson do an incredible job of discussing criticism through the biblical lens. This subject seems to have hidden under the radar, but now has a simple, short, and effective work to help the elders, deacons, and members understand and combat sinful criticism while building a church that can handle right critique. This little book has helped me considerably in my current season of ministry and I am grateful for these men’s focus on scripture and prayer throughout the book. While focused on Pastors, this book is profitable for all who claim the name of Christ!

Ethos, pathos, logos

Don’t miss the section on ethos, pathos, logos. That I think was the most helpful bit, but this book has a lot of time/experience gained wisdom.

Good principles, decent application

The biblical principles were very helpful. Some material was for the seminarian rather than the seasoned pastor.
