About this listen

Take a rollicking ride through the Wild, Wild West with the original cowboy, Pecos Bill. Raised by coyotes to brave the great frontier, Pecos rides his wild mustang Widow-Maker and invents the first rough-and-tumble cattle drive. Then he mounts a runaway cyclone like a buckin' bronco to create the Great Salt Lake.

Robin Williams narrates this tale, which is rich in language, imagery, and sheer nonsensical fun, Pecos Bill is a fast and furious fantasy your family is sure to enjoy. The original score by Ry Cooder adds to the fun.

A pleasure to listen to

These productions are wonderful, the music that accompany the story are spot on. Robyn Williams is funny and the story comes to life with his narration. Get these Rabbit Ears productions for you self, get these for your kids, get these for your grand kids. Just get these. They go on sale about once a year and they are cheaper than they where when you bought the books and tapes together. I had these for my children twenty years ago. And they loved them.

Robin Williams is Fantastic

I loved these stories about Pecos Bill growing up and I think any kid would today. Robin Williams really made the story come alive. I didn't even know this was Williams until after I bought it. He does such a good western accent that I would have never caught on, had I not read it. I think Robin might have added some of his own impromptu to the story, not sure. At one point a cowboy comes upon Pecos running around naked with the coyotes and the cowboy says something like, "or are you just happy to see me?" I am betting that was not in the story.

This is a must, a great American Tall Tell, acted by one of the best.
