About this listen

An insomnia pandemic is sweeping the globe, leaving people unable to function and society on the brink of collapse....

Dr. Cooper Delaney believes he has the answer: Nocturnal, a new sleep-aid - one with absolutely no side-effects - which in early testing shows 100 percent effectiveness.

The only problem is, it doesn’t work. With no warning. No explanation.

Unable to accept the drug’s inexplicable failure and unwilling to concede to the competition, lines are crossed, ethical boundaries are pushed to the breaking point, and disturbing realizations come to light that could completely unravel civilization as we know it...and throw into question humanity’s place in the universe.

A jetset medical thriller meets sci-fi adventure with an unforgettable cast of characters, Percivious Insomnia presents an alternate history so compelling that it could possibly be true. The first book in the Percivious Trilogy from husband-wife author duo JJ Cook and AJ Cook, MD, Percivious Insomnia sets a unique and original course for fiction of the future, and paints a timely, prescient portrait of today’s globalized society...and what may exist beyond the realm of our current understanding.

Suspenseful sci-fi medical thriller

Loved this book! Intriguing plot, great narration and clever cliffhanger ending.
There is a complex cast of characters to keep track of in the beginning but all weaves together nicely as the book progresses.
I’m excited for the second book in the series!

Except for occasional profanity, this was captivating

Although there are several different characters and ongoing situations, the author has successfully written this suspenseful drama which is quite easily followed. A pandemic - worse than COVID-19 in many ways - which ends up bringing an unusual group of “specialists” together. A top Pharmesutical company has used top scientific research to find a cure. What they discover is totally incredible! The characters are well portrayed and feel very real. The scenes are equally described in a way that is easily visualized. As the story progresses, so does the momentum and intrigue. The final short chapter cleverly leads into the next book of the series. Other than being slightly repetitive, and I would have liked the occasional profanity left out, this was an excellent, creative tale. I feel it would make a great movie series most would enjoy. Alexander Stavrou did a commendable job in the narration. At first, I was slightly annoyed at the deep, raspy tone of his voice, but as the audio progressed, and his excellent performance, his voice was no longer a problem.
I offer a Four and a Half Stars rating for this audiobook.
This audiobook was gifted to me with no pressure, whatsoever, for a positive review. This is my honest review.
