About this listen

A dark, modern, romantic retelling of the classic Phantom of the Opera. But this time, the man behind the mask won’t stop until she is his.

She is my muse, and I am her demon of music.

A year ago, I witnessed sweet Scarlett Day’s dark side. She’s been my obsession ever since.

I was content with being her secret, content with protecting her from afar… until an enemy from my past sets his sights on her.

Our families have a deep history of hatred, and Scarlett is caught in the middle.

Meanwhile, her mind plays tricks on her. When a panic attack goes horribly wrong, I emerge from the shadows to save her.

Now that she’s mine, I can’t let her go.

I’ve mastered the darkness. She tempts me with her light.

But when my mask is gone, will she fear the monster underneath?

Phantom is a spicy story set in modern-day New Orleans and a complete standalone in the Tattered Curtain series. Guaranteed HEA. Contains mature content.

Phantom with HEA and IRL scenarios

NARRATION Speed 1.5x
Zara Eden voice is decent also not the greatest but her voice is parallel to the male narrator.
Michael Pierce is not the greatest or what I expected from the "Phantom". Also the distinction between his character was not sufficient. He also added a lot of random growls which was fine in certain scenarios but in others it felt like a bit much.

STORY
The story itself is not bad, it deals with real life problems and mental health issues plus the stage of grief while also highlighting that grief has many different forms. The story is a HEA and its truly the ending that we wanted all along with these characters.

Scarlett Day
This character is portrayed like the one from the movie/play/musical BUT she has a strong personality that can be irritating. She wants to make everyone happy, wants to be in the light, but then once in the light want to compose music.

Sol Bordeaux
This character is annoying because he doesn't have a reason to had but chooses to and takes on the persona of the "Phantom". I loved the fact that the other gave him family and people that he is close to. He even interacts with different characters and isn't only a man hidden in the walls.

best dark romance book.

This book, takes you in a emotional roller coaster. Dark mafia mixed with the phantom of the opera. I could not ask for a better book. I never wanted to story to end. I need a sequel.

Meh

It was ok. I really like the mental health representation. It was just very slow.

⭐️⭐️⭐️

Le sigh…
Honestly I don’t remember much from the phantom of the opera since it’s been so long since I’ve seen it, so I can’t say much on that end.
As for the rest of the book, I liked it. I didn’t love it. I can usually get behind a stalker romance but this was just to instalovey for me I think.
Also the narrator for the MMC wasn’t my favorite

One of my only returns

Let me start off by saying right off that bat that I LOVED this book. The story was great. The awareness of bipolar disorder, great. What I couldn’t stand… the Narrators. Specially the male narrator. I made it as far as him completely butchering the French in this book and had to stop and return the audiobook then and there. His narration was already terrible but when there is another language and the narrator doesn’t bother to do their research to learn the correct pronunciation of the words… nope, couldn’t stomach it.
I love the author and still wanted to support her so I immediately got on her website and ordered the physical book, but I just couldn’t continue to listen to the terrible narration because it was ruining the book for me.
Sad to see it’s the same narrators for the next two books. I guess I will just have to read them myself.
