About this listen

There’s no faking it in love or hockey....

Transferring to a new school under false pretenses is harder than I expected, especially when my cocky new housemate, Callan Thomas, annoys me at every pass. He’s treated like a god and revered by everyone on campus. Too bad he made me feel like a rejected fool the first night we met.

But that doesn’t stop me from accepting his offer to become his fake girlfriend, because he has skills that I need. Only Callan can help me improve my game and make the USA women’s hockey team.

I try to keep despising him, but he keeps proving my first impression was wrong. And the more time I spend with him, the more complex my feelings become. I need to tell him the truth about who I really am before anyone finds out and things go too far.

Problem is, I think they already have....

Another winner in the Moo U series!

Playmaker is another winner in the Moo U series in Sarina Bowen's World of True North. A college girls hockey team? Yay! I love when both the hero and heroine are involved in a sport so it was super cool to see Aria and Callan both be college hockey players who just so happen to end up roommates as well. The chemistry between them was instant and fantastic. I always enjoy when a fake relationship turns into more, and I truly enjoyed Aria and Callan together. Narrators Teddy Hamilton and Emma Wilder are two favorites of mine, and I always enjoy their performances. I listened at 1.3X, which is typical for me. I found that speed to be perfectly conversational.

College Ice Hockey Frenemies to lovers

4.5 STARS ! I really enjoyed this last month. I listened again- over the past weekend- through Audible . 4.5 stars again!
I loved the wait for it, mistaken identity-then frenemies to lovers.
Teddy Hamilton narrates the hero, Callan.
Emma Wilder narrates the heroine, Aria.
They have immediate chemistry, but things don't go well each time they encounter each other.
They are both college ice hockey players. Aria is a transfer student from Duluth MN. She's playing it low key, going by a different last name to avoid a family scandal.
Aria. ironically, is trying to make it on the women's Olympic hockey team.
I felt that Aria was a little too harsh/hasty about her dad's coaching scandal. It's a little switch from the (usual) H/h having a misunderstanding.
Aria does withhold who she is and doesn't do one bit of good with her relationship with Callan.
Great writing. The chemistry is strong and grows when they have work together on the ice.
I don't read a lot of college/NA romance, but this Moo U Series (and the other True North spin off series) is a lot of fun. I never hesitant a chance to visit Vermont.

A Romance with Two Hockey Players!!!!

Playmaker is book 8 in the Moo U series, but is a complete standalone. It was an enjoyable listen about two hockey players who are also roommates trying to navigate their new living arrangements along with their chemistry. Aria is a recent transfer to Moo U and she is trying to keep her true identity under the radar and the stress is impacting her skills on the ice. While Callan and Aria make an agreement to trade Aria pretending to be his girlfriend for him helping her on the ice, all the time they spend together leads to more than either was expecting.

I really liked Callan from the start. He was fun and flirty and didn't play games. He was upfront with Aria and did whatever he could to help and support her. I liked Aria but struggled with her character a little more since she wasn't being truthful, though I understand in part why she was keeping secrets. I think they had amazing chemistry. I really enjoyed the author's writing style and I look forward to reading more from the author in the future as well as more in the Moo U series!

I think Teddy Hamilton and Emma Wilder did a fantastic job with the narration of this story as Callan and Aria. Teddy Hamilton has such a way with his voice that makes anything that he says very pleasant to listen to and he brings forth the perfect emotions to go along with the story line. I think this may have been my first listen by Emma Wilder and she was also very pleasant to listen to and I would definitely recommend her. I look forward to listening to more from both of the narrators in the future.

Fantastic!

Playmaker was a fun Hockey Romance with insta-lust, steam and a lot of fun banter. Callan was a great hero and Aria a strong heroine. The narration by Teddy Hamilton and Emma Wilder was fantastic!

Loved it! A Moo U series fave!

4.5⭐️

Playmaker is book #8 in the Moo U series and I absoltuely loved it! Its my favorite of the series so far. Emma Wilder and Teddy Hamilton blew me away with the narration, it was so well done.

Aria has just arrived on campus at Moo U. On her first night on campus she attends a college party and meets Callan who introduces himself as Church (his nickname on the ice). The two have fantastic chemistry! I loved their banter and intense attraction. Aria is a hockey player and her dream is to make it in the Womens USA team in the Olympics. Callan has his own goals to make it to the NHL and has already been drafted. I loved how individually they were so focused and driven on their goals.

Church ends up being Callan, who is also her new roommate! I loved the scene when Aria first discovered this. Callan is a such a sweet guy. He doesn't want anything serious but also doesn't want to end up like his father who has never treated women with respect.

Callan is in need of a fake girlfriend and Aria needs his help on the ice to improve her skills, so the two make a deal and before long it turns into so much more.

There is some drama but nothing over the top and I loved the story and didn't want it to end. This was such a fantastic addition to the series!

Enjoyed it!

4.5 Stars
This is my first book by Sierra Hill and I really enjoyed it! Playmaker is the eighth book in the Moo U series. I loved that we get roommates, a fake relationship and both men and women's hockey. Aria transferred to Moo U and her first day she meets Callan. They have instant attraction and share a heated kiss then find out they are roommates. Aria needs to keep her head down and focus on her goals, to make the USA Women's Hockey Team. Turns out they each need a favor from the other. Callan needs a fake girlfriend and Aria needs help on the ice. Fake feelings turn real and things start to fall into place for them. Until Callan finds out Aria has been lying to him. He needs to find out why. I really enjoyed this story! I loved Teddy and Emma. They did a fantastic job! Callan and Aria were fun, sexy and I loved all the hockey!!
