About this listen

‘I’m going to love my baby and give her lots of attention,’ Jade said. ‘I’ll show my mum she’s wrong.’

Jade, 17, is pregnant, homeless and alone when she’s brought to live with Cathy. Jade is desperate to keep her baby, but little more than a child herself, she struggles with the responsibilities her daughter brings.

Cathy is worried as soon as Jade arrives: she’s never looked after a pregnant teenager before, but none of the mother and baby carers is free, and – seventeen years old, seven months pregnant and homeless – Jade is in a desperate situation.

But Jade doesn’t want to listen or advice and although her daughter is born safely it isn’t long before Jade’s in trouble with the police.

Cathy knows that Jade loves her daughter with all her heart, but will she be able to get through to Jade in time to make her realise just how much she might lose?

I really enjoyed this book. It gave me hope, that not all babies get taken from their moms, and placed for adoption.

This is a typical Cathy Glass book and that is good news. The pace and storyline are well done. I’m really enjoying this series.

loved it. I kept telling at my phone (Where I listen to audible) don't trust her! I also had many night where I had to keep listening. Jade had me going up and Down with my emotions and I worried for Courtney and Tyler.

I love Danica as a narrator and I hope she continues to narrate for Cathy. if I ever meet Cathy, I may be shocked when a different voice comes out of her mouth lol.

so good

I loved it! I'm in the process of reading all her fostering books and I haven't been disappointed at any of them

Another awesome Cathy Glass book

I was a bit frustrated that Cathy was unusually very soft and naively trusted jaded despite of repeated betrayal. Also the social worker was also very generous to give jade so many chances after contiguous failure. At the end, their kindness paid off and jade turned around. Jade was also blessed to have such a loyal partner who loved her over her undeserving behaviors. Jade’s life could be so much worse without her support from those.

Jade is a luckiest girl

This book held my interest throughout: I really worried about the eventual outcome for this young mother and child....even for her younger boyfriend involved too. There was something so adorably human about the protagonist teen, namely -- It's not that Jade was necessarily lazy but she preferred to sleep in (when she could) and let the foster mother change and feed Baby, LOL. Ditto when she was sometimes napping. HAHA. Also, she drank alcohol and smoked, a definite no-no. I did complete the story many months ago so I forget a lot of the details but the plot certainly had twists & turns which made it exciting to follow. I think you will grow to care about what happens to all the main characters in this true story too. Personally, I really loved this audible.com book and I thought Denica Fairman was (and still is) a brilliant narrator/performance artist.

An Absorbing Book with Outstanding Narration!
