Publisher's summary

While viewing the harbor's Gaslights and Galleons Parade from the widow's walk of Timothy Neville's Charleston mansion, local banker Carson Lanier seemingly tumbles over a narrow railing, then plunges three stories to his death. But a tragic accident becomes something much more sinister when it's discovered that the victim was first shot with a bolt from a crossbow.

At the request of the mansion owner, Theodosia investigates the tragedy and is soon neck deep in suspects. An almost ex-wife, a coworker, a real estate partner - all had motives for killing the luckless banker, but one resorted to murder to settle accounts.

I take mine with milk, no sugar.

I love tea, I love Charleston, and so I thoroughly enjoy the series. Yes, the themes are repetitive, and the characters don't evolve much, but I always enjoy recognizing the specialty teas or trying a new one. I used to go to Teavanna and really miss the store. I listen to this series because you can do so while you exercise in the gym and put it down for a few days without losing the thread of the mystery.

Antique weapons

An altogether different background subject in this episode. And a new worker at the tea shop. Theo's deductive skills ran in circles but as usual she figured it out before collapsing. Surprising end.

who did it and why?

I couldn't figure it out! That's the best mystery in my book. Very enjoyable experience.

So Enjoyable!

Very entertaining! The author bowled me over with this wonderful tea cozy thriller! The narrator was awesome. I was feeling a bit down and this made me feel so much better. Can't wait for the next story by Laura Childs with Theodosia and her wonderful friends.

Not my thing

I enjoyed the ending of this book and did not expect the culprit. However I think I found out that cozy murder mysteries are not my cup of tea (no pun intended).
