Also worked for my autistic child!

I found this book so incredibly helpful in our potty training journey. It made things so much less stressful and broke everything down to every detailand things you dont even know are factors are brought to your attention. I followed this when my first child who has autism and is nonverbal turned 3. It did take just a little longer for it all to click for him but I think that's understandable considering the circumstances. I relistened to the book to refresh my memory when my second child turned 2 and again this worked like magic! A lot of our friends are very impressed at how fast my son took to it and already never has accidents. I always recommend this book to everyone who asks me how I did it!!

Good but no night time details

I really enjoyed the tips In the book but I wish she went into more night time and nap time details.
I also wish she was more age specific

misleading title and longer than it needed to be

I decided for research purposes to read 5 books on potty training. Of all the books this one had a very misleading title because it's highly an accurate to say a child can be potty trained in 3 days. A child can be taught about the concept of going to the bathroom in 3 days probably but training means accident free. Additionally the book had a lot of fluff and could have been shorter so for a busy parent who is trying to gather some information this book was a little longer than it needed to be. The author at the end also has a pitch to get you to sign up to their website because they are a mother and daughter which is great but there is no expert advice or robust information in this it is mostly a process that somebody learned with them and their friends. other books that discuss how important it is to understand the temperament of your child and your own parenting style and personality are things that will help somebody potty-trained to the style of a child vs just picking one toilet style or another as this author suggests.

It worked!

My husband and I listened to the audio book and prepared ourselves for this monumental rite of passage. We had tried to potty train our 2.5 yo daughter off and on for several months and she either wasn’t interested or refused to sit on the little potty. We followed the guidelines of the book and set a date, over Presidents Day weekend. We talked about it with our daughter in the weeks and days leading up to that weekend. On the Saturday morning, we woke and took off her last diaper! We’ve experienced a few accidents, which is to be expected, but we continue to encourage our daughter that practice makes perfect. Thanks so much for sharing your strategy! I recommend this book to anyone looking for a disciplined way to quickly potty train.

okay...

most of the stuff I already knew. there really isn't a secret to the three days. in fact she talked about preparing 3 weeks in advance. the one positive was that she reminded me to refocus on just the potty training for the days in a positive way. don't plan anything but the potty training.

I loved it... it offered a lot of good tips. I have potty trained 2 children but it was over a decade ago

We started this 3 day method 6 months later

It all sounded great. And worked great over the three days, and next three weeks...

Then our kid got bored of the sticker rewards, once he lost interest we changed the reward to bubbles, or poppers or whatever other treats to try to keep him motivated.

But yeah he just didn't care, so now because I have severe morning sickness and not the tolerance to clean up wees all day everyday - we did in fact put a nappy back on 5 months after we started... But training pants underneath - so he knows when he's wet but the mess is contained. He does take himself to the toilet for poos thank goodness.

I mean sure, my kid by all accounts is toilet trained - he knows how to pull his pants up and down. Climb the step at toilet, he empties the potty when done or flushes... He knows what to do and he knows when the urge comes as he was taking himself to the Loo for a while. He knows how to wash his hands.

But he only goes when he wants to go now... Or I can leverage him to go with something he wants. He's done with the rewards, he doesn't care.

I wish we had never bothered with the sticker chart it just set us up for it all being about leverage.

He was 2 when I started he's now 2.5.

I turned it off after 30 minutes or so....

I really struggled to get halfway through this book before turning it off. I was turned off by the negative energy that the author projects out to the audience. I didn't relate to any of the challenges that the author talked about in the book. I haven't reviewed any books until this one, because it really gave me bad vibes.

Negative

Author did a whole lot of comparing American Parents strageties to other Regions Countries and cultures and was too negative.
