About this listen

Jay Roy Hobbs held the county record for talking ladies out of their panties. At least that’s what Tizzy Cooper had always heard. But when she and her two best friends discover Jay Roy’s naked body lying in a field, his reputation becomes the prime motive for the murder. Three ex-wives, a talking parrot, and 15 former girlfriends help make this the zaniest cast of characters yet in Emma’s Sweet Thangs Mystery Series.

A Mystery with a Paranormal Touch

I didn't know whether to laugh or cry because this book had me laughing until tears were in my eyes. The storyline was a a absolutely amazing and full of sexual humor. I would not recommend this book for anyone under eighteen. I loved the individual characters their different personalities kept me guessing about who the murderer was. I failed there are so many suspects that it is crazy. I loved the author's very descriptive words when referring to let's just say you'll understand when you read or listen to the book. Sandra W. Walker was amazing as the narrator her voices were spot on. I highly recommend this book to anyone who loves mystery, humor, and a little paranormal thrill. I received this book for free and this is my honest unbiased review. This book is fantastic don't miss it.

Great Addition to the Series

I think this has been my favorite book of the series. The story line left me guessing throughout the whole book and the parrot was hilarious. Speaking of the parrot, the narrator did an amazing job of mimicking a parrot voice. I actually found myself wondering if they had computer automated just the parrot voice it was so good. I do like the narrator, but I find her voice sounds kind of robotic with the weird way she chops off words as she speaks. No one would talk so choppy in real life. Other than that, her enunciation is great and I can usually tell who is who just by listening to the voices and not having to wait to find out with a “Tizzy said” at the end of the sentence.

As for the book, I love the characters. The author really brings out the individual personalities of each of the characters. I feel like I can picture each one of them in my mind so clearly just by the things they say. The narrator definitely helps add to that by giving voice to their words so perfectly. I also love the tiny little addition of the supernatural. Nothing in your face, just enough woo-woo to make you say, “Cool!”

If you haven’t listened to this series yet, I suggest you go back to book one and start from there. These could be stand alone books, but you will enjoy the characters more if you start at the beginning and learn their personalities and relationships from the beginning. I highly recommend these books. They’re a great, fun listen and sometimes I think I’d love to be friends with these people. They sound like so much fun!

Loads of mystery & humor

Loads of mystery and humor. Great continuation of this series but works well as a stand-alone also. Love these characters and the witty, small town humor. Great read!

Laugh out loud

This book is a different cozy mystery than I usually read but oh it is funny. I so enjoyed the narrator Sandra W Parker she gives this book a kick with her great voice. This book is a bit racy without being dirty if that makes sense. The book is number 3 in the series but you don't need to read these in any order to enjoy them. If you are looking for a take me away from this craziness book then let me tell you this is it. No real thinking involved just listen laugh and relax.
