Publisher's summary

If you want to overcome procrastination once and for all so you can begin to get what you want out of life, then pay attention....

Procrastination is an ever-growing problem for millions of people around the world, undermining their productivity and robbing them of the happiness and success they desire.

Although countless audiobooks have been produced on the subject, few ever produce the results they promise. Instead, they usually add more stress and anxiety to the listener’s life without solving any of their problems.

If you are one of the countless people who continue to struggle with procrastination despite having tried all of the tricks and methods that the other audiobooks offered, don’t despair. The problem isn’t with you, rather it is that most methods and approaches are incomplete and only provide a short period of relief rather than an actual cure.

Here’s just a tiny fraction of what you’ll discover in this audiobook:

  • Eight of the most common causes of procrastination and how they affect your life.
  • The psychology behind procrastination.
  • How to differentiate procrastination from laziness.
  • Five effective and easy steps for getting started on any task or project.
  • Five steps for creating a mindset of productivity and success.
  • Ten proven methods for beating laziness and accomplishing your goals.
  • Six harmful habits to eliminate in order to overcome procrastination.
  • Eight positive habits to form in order to fulfill your true potential.
  • Three proven tips for coping with and overcoming relapse.

Very Helpful

At first I procrastinated because I was intimidated. Later I procrastinated because I didn't want to see myself in the book. But once I got into it, I was totally enthralled and engaged. I found myself enjoying the research and stories of fellow procrastinators. I wound up taking a long hard look at myself. Procrastination is tricky, but the more I read, the more I am convinced I can beat it slowly and methodically. And maybe even have a little fun along the way. Just like reading this book.

A great manual

This is a great text for people who are looking for a sort of beginner's manual for understanding and addressing procrastination in their lives. It covers a broad range of scenarios, several of which are bound to touch you personally. Written compellingly and clearly, it's an easy read and gives great advice!

Very Practical

I use this book both for myself and with clients (I'm a career consultant specializing in mid-career folks). The first edition, which I've used for years, was excellent, but this second edition has added much essential material, especially about Carol Dweck's work on mindsets. This can really change someone's experience of themselves in relation to procrastination.

Comforting

Illuminating and comforting, this book explains so much about how procrastination works that it eliminates some of the pain associated with delay and putting things off. It does not stop there.

This book is a good find.

This book is a good find. It explores procrastination in a little bit deeper sense as to combat causes instead of effects. Instead of focusing only on time-management, the book explores why an individual might be feeling so aversion to a task in the first place. It sums up the book with a quality set of techniques that will actually work (if you do them.)

I Liked It

The book tells you a lot of things, from the psychology of why we do it and gives some hints on how to overcome it. It will tell you that you won't be able to do from a Monday to Tuesday, but that it is a gradual process.

Fantastic

A complex problem defined in a simple way. The authors have provided techniques and examples on how to manage or overcome procrastination on many levels. From the generic to clinically diagnosed causes, the topic of procrastination, as they explain, is more complex and more intricate then first thought. A fantastic read and helpful information to manage, if not overcome procrastination.

It's very helpful.

It's very helpful. I didn't read the first half (not because of procrastination) but did read and use the second half. I've found it very helpful in a few ways that I procrastinate. There were a few areas in my life where I was putting things off to the point where it was becoming problematic. This book helped me to the work I needed before things got out of hand. Most of us do this in a few ways in our life.

Comprehensive

I don't know what else to say other than it has something for everyone. I didn't know there were so many types of procrastinators and the authors really give you a psychological explanation of why we do it. I'm still studying it but I'm sure it will turn out to be an invaluable resource.
