Do you ever get the sense you could be doing so much more?

Do you put things off for later and they never get done? Do your thoughts never manifest into action? If you wonder what life would be like if you stopped procrastinating, then you’re in the right place.

Procrastination is a vicious cycle that can be broken. Many are aware but never muster the strength for change. Many wait for the last minute, or until the time has passed. We put things off and tell ourselves we’ll do them right after this nap. Right after we check our phone. Right after we watch the last 10 minutes of that show.

But those things never get done. They go untouched or unresolved. And all of those unresolved things build up in your life like plaque on your teeth.

You can stop procrastinating and gain back that competitive edge in life. To do that, you’ll have to go beyond yourself. Get outside help. Why? Because you’ve already tried to go deep. You’ve already tugged at your will power and attempted to find your motivation. It didn’t work, and that’s why you’re here. So, the answer is that you need another perspective. A guide. A simple, informative audiobook to help you change your life right now.

This author actually cites the studies.

I found that this book had many worthy ideas. I plan to re-read it and actually study it in order to effectively implement what it has to teach. What I liked most was that the knowledge was evidence-based. Too many self-help books are based only on the author's experience and not scientific studies. This author actually cites the studies.

starsA wise and practical book

the book goes through several strategies to improve self-discipline in order to achieve personal or professional goals. All chapters are clear and provide ideas that can be put to practice. It's a great primer on the subject but even if you have read books on the subject before this is a useful resource because it systematizes the fundamental concepts and ideas. Recommended.

I really liked some of the ideas and exercises

I really liked some of the ideas and exercises are given throughout the book. The schedule setting one was very helpful. The section on having low self-confidence and how that can trigger procrastination was intriguing and made me think. Overall, I would recommend this book to any type of procrastinator. Don't put it off. It is concise and to the point of short listen.

If implemented, the ideas in this book will change your life. It isn’t magic, however, and it won’t happen overnight. I prefer this book for all who have an interest here. All the secrets come directly from the street of experience, either mine or those I learned through my research. Only world-class people get the most value out of mental-toughness suggestions because they are always trying to gain an edge and get better. This book espouses wisdom on everything you need to know most about mental toughness. Recommended!

Simple and Effective read

This book is a basic, easy to follow read that applies common sense to a subject many choose to avoid. In its simple approach, I found myself surprised by the exercises which led me to some value-added conclusions concerning procrastination elements in my own personal behavior. A good read to launch a person's efforts towards self-improvement.

Stop procrastinating

I found this book had some interesting basic information on why and how to stop procrastinating things. Didn't find anything that you would not be able to read or learn in a professional development training or anything similar. I found the narration very compelling and made me stay listening.

Impressed me

I have read a lot of self help books, blogs and articles that focus on "how to" develop good habits that stick. While most of what I have read provides a few nuggets or good ideas that I can use for myself or share with others who I help as part of my job, none have impressed me enough to adopt the whole system. However, after reading The Self-Discipline, I feel that I have found that one system to help me to develop and sustain the habits I desire.
