This book is definitely for beginners. With that said? It's a legit tool for anyone unfamiliar with code to get familiar with it. It's a little repetitive, but in a good way --- it teaches by using the previous skill to build into the new one. This is a good resource for novices who don't want to be overwhelmed by complicated technical instructions.

Keith Dvorjak has managed to craft a careful, measured approach to learning Python from scratch. You might get more out of a bigger, meatier book, but this one contains the essentials to understanding the language and learning the syntax. Self-starting motivation is needed here -- there are no large scale coding challenges to test an accumulation of concepts, only small scale exercises to hold the user's hand while learning individual concepts. Great effort from the author though.

This book is excellent. The material is understandable and easy to implement. The narrator reading the code is strange at first, but I got used to it quickly. This book provides a good foundation for Python essentials.

The narrator reading code was a bit slow for me at first, but it's a help more than a hinderance once you get used to it. After you've covered a few concepts, you can second guess the upcoming code snippets and test your knowledge when new concepts get introduced. Highly inspired and surprisingly effective. The author and narrator did a fantastic job.

This book starts with the basics and works its way up. There's some redundancy in the way the material is covered, but it's obviously meant to reinforce retention of the information for the listener. Tried, true and effective.

This is a nicely laid out, informative book. It takes some concepts that could be complex, and breaks them down into small pieces to be understood better. Explaining the sum of the parts helps the listener to understand the whole much better.

This book is careful not to go over your head by going too fast, or by throwing a lot of complicated issues at you at once. This is a solid appraoch to learning the fundamentals of Python programming to get you up and running in a relatively short amount of time. A+ delivery.

Manageable chunks of learning for a great approach

This is a very good book for anyone looking to get exposed to the concepts of Python programming. The book does not walk you through creating a full blown project by the end, but you will have the tools to do so. Holding the customer's hand to create something from scratch would be a good confidence boost for a beginner, but it's a small gripe about an otherwise excellent tutorial.

This is a great book on Python for beginners. It goes one concept at a time so that you're not overwhelmed. Easy to do when you're not trying to knock the whole book out in one sitting. Great stuff!
