About this listen

The ancient demons of Hel have awakened, and one of them is gathering forces for an invasion of Aaru - which is pretty hilarious as far as Sam is concerned. Few know that Aaru is locked down tight after she banished all the angels. Nobody can get in. Nobody. Well, maybe nobody. The one being in Hel that might be able to restore Aaru is the archangels' prodigal brother. But he's presumed dead, having not been seen in over two million years. The remote possibility of an attack on Aaru isn't Sam's only problem.

Lows are being snatched off the streets of Dis, and hauled away to the home of an ancient demon never to be seen again - and a few of the missing Lows belong to Sam's household. Suddenly Sam finds herself providing sanctuary in her earthly home for all the Lows in Hel. She'll need to go undercover to discover if there's anything to be concerned about in this planned Aaru invasion as well as find the Low-snatcher and somehow persuade him at the point of a sword to leave the minor demons alone before her home is overrun with refugees.

So so good

I can't say enough about both author and narrator . A story written with so much growth and fun, drama and that little mystery MS Dunbar adds bits and pieces of it throughout each book. A well developed world with lot's of characters. MS Rysk gave each and every character a voice so very well done and brought the whole series to life. Highly recommend the audio version it's very much worth the money and we'll done.

Hell gets a bit hotter.

Characters and worlds are well drawn. Angels and demons are determined to out do each other. Too much foul language.

Sensitivity and Scars

I appreciate the sensitivity you took wrt to the sexual assault survivor emotions, physical & soul-deep scars, and psyche that both Sam and Bencool had. As an advocate for survivors I see how you showed that abuse doesn't have to continue or be repeated; and how real love and understanding can help heal wounds. thank you!

Excellent

I have followed this series for quite sometime. The author never disappoints. The epilogue left me wondering. Is that who I think it is? Looking forward to the next installment.

What’s an Imp to do?

I love Sam and her spunkiness, I had taken a break from audiobooks and was pleasantly surprised when I saw that Debra Dunbar had come out with 2 more books in the series. Of course, they were automatic downloads and of course I had to relisten to the whole series again to catch up. I enjoyed it the second time as much as I did the first.
This is a great series, I wish it would become a HBO TV series. In my mind the story is so vivid. I have learned to love the narrator after time, and she is Sam in my eyes, I was glad to see she did the entire series.
