The characters and plot twist.

I liked not truly knowing until the end who and why. Kept me interested the whole book.

Twists and turns galore

I’ve enjoyed all the books in this series so far, because in addition to intriguing plots, I always learn about a person or historical event that is completely new to me—usually outside of the “western civilization” history I learned in school. Also gives me lots of ideas for places I’d like to visit. This one was especially enjoyable—packed full of interesting things (automations, lost treasure, Paris!) with plenty of twists and turns that moves the story along at a brisk pace. The characters—both recurring and specific to this book—are thoroughly enjoyable and varied—diabolical, fun, mysterious and/or delightfully intelligent. Looking forward to the next one!

stupid but amusing and educational

OK, from a historical pov this was very interesting and it was amusing at times (but possibly because of the stupidity of the h, and sometimes other characters as well) but as far as the mystery plot goes it was rather pathetic. Also *spoiler alert* it wasn't even a murder mystery so having that aspect be a non-event was rather aggravating. If these weren't complimentary I wouldn't be continuing with the series but I am currently well into the next book and have made up my mind to be entertained by the stupid h - to consider that aspect a little more like a farce. (Also, although this narrator does a reasonable job, I don't think she gets the humour, AND she tends to over-dramatise certain scenes - there's a difference between farce and melodrama). Perhaps the author intends the series to read like a farce but the narrator hasn't understood this. Would certainly improve this series if it were read that way.

EXCITING TRIP TO FRANCE! FEELS REAL!

GIGI will make you feel like your part of the gang and actually there with them every step of the way.
The plot is so well constructed, you won't be able to figure out the mystery and it will keep you on the edge of your seat.
The narration is really good, too.
Warning!!! Don't start this book before bed, you'll stay up way too late!

Love the history

These books are an easy and entertaining listen. Thus far they have intrigued me. I’ll admit in this book Jaya became infuriating. I had to stop the book at least 4 times, a little miffed that she was over reacting, self absorbed and basically irksome. Although she is the main character, in this book it was the other characters that kept me listening. That being said, I may still listen to the next book as these have been enjoyable.

Quicksand: Jaya Jones Treasure Hunt Mystery Book 3

This was a thrilling Treasure Hunt that Jaya was presented with. Finding a long lost treasure and restoring the reputation of her family's hero were impossible to resist.

I enjoyed the alternating POV(Points of View) between Jaya and her great-granduncle Anand.

While understanding why he did it, I was sad that Lane left Jaya for her own good. I was tickled that he couldn't help but want to protect her afterwards. I loved the way that Jaya put him told him exactly what she thought of his unilateral decision to end their relationship. These two are an entertaining pair.

Excellent narrator!
