Kate Love is an ambitious reporter on the trail of a swindler who has been preying on elderly Blacks. But when her investigation leads her into danger, she is snatched by Dix Wildhorse, a Black Seminole marshal from Oklahoman’s Indian country. Kate has no choice but to flee with the daring knight her father sent to rescue her. Despite the warm simmering fire Dix’s bronzed, muscled embrace ignites, she is determined to hold on to her independence, challenging him at every turn.

Story
Ten years after her parents were killed, Evelyn Radcliffe is once more homeless. The orphanage that was her refuge and later her workplace has burned to the ground, and only she and a young orphan girl have escaped. Convinced this must be related to her parents' murders, Evelyn flees with the girl to Mesquite Springs in the Texas Hill Country and finds refuge in the home of Wyatt Clark, a talented horse rancher whose plans don't include a family of his own.

Great book!!
Quil’s Careful Cowboy is a sweet tale of a man and woman who find each other when they aren’t expecting it. They have an immediate attraction to each other and their happily-ever-after is unexpected from the start. This is book #2 in the “Tales from Bider’s Clump” series. Looking forward to listening/reading the remaining books in the series. Greg Young does a fantastic job narrating this audiobook. I was given a copy of this audiobook in exchange for an honest review.

Quil's Careful Cowboy
"Quil's Careful Cowboy" is the second of the Bider's Clump stories written by Danni Roan and narrated by Greg Young. The first story, "Christmas Kringle," focused on the youngest Adams daughter Sara and her relationship with Rafe Dixon. This story focuses on the oldest daughter Quil and her relationship with new Adam's ranch hand Cameron Royal. Quil is very good with keeping financial records. Cameron is very good at taking care of the struggling ranch. They make a good team, but is it meant to be in the long term? In the meantime, the youngest daughter Sara tries to hide her hidden relationship with Rafe, and there is a mystery as to the cause of the feud between Mrs. Adams and Mr. Dixon.

Delightful Western Romance
Quil’s Careful Cowboy is a well-written, clean, Western romance. Cameron Royal arrives in Biders Clump looking for work. Aquila Adams and her family own a small ranch that is failing because of a dishonest foreman. Cameron agrees to marry Quil in name only and to help save the ranch. This is an enjoyable story with a great narrator. Highly recommend!

Sweet
I’ve enjoyed Cam and Quil’s story – it is sweet and well-developed.
Bossy Mossy adds a chuckle to the story :)
