About this listen

An aging, long time sheriff dies in his fishing cabin of an apparent suicide. The son of the sheriff's life-long friend is patrol sergeant Dave Harbinger. Dave questions why the sheriff would commit suicide and if so why do it the way he did. Dave is determined to get to the bottom of the sheriff's death. As he digs he finds himself on a roller coaster ride of mystery and intrigue, with drug dealing, political corruption and deceit at every turn.

Narration needs polish.

I enjoyed this story. Good light listening. Also a good example of an author doing his book a disservice by reading it himself. The narration is jerky and in places sounds like a student learning to read in front of his class. However, his voice is pleasant and there is some improvement as the book progresses. I hope this author will try again.

Let the professionals narrate

The story was decent but the narration was almost not worth it. I felt at times that Hemingway was reading the story. There was little natural flow in the presentation. Otherwise, enjoyable.
