The Nazi Civil War rages on.
The Provisional Government has scored a significant victory, driving the Waffen-SS back from Berlin and winning itself time to plot a counteroffensive. But Karl Holliston - the self-declared Fuhrer of the Greater German Reich - isn't about to give up so easily. As mighty armies prepare for the final campaign, winter sweeps down from the east and both side prepare their ultimate weapons, the fate of the world hangs in the balance.
And if the Reich burns, the rest of the world may burn too.

Portrayal of Third Reich Germans was way off. He made them out to be Russians with their technology.

Nuttall shows a complex range of response to the regime established by Adolph Hitler in 1933 and is now seemingly thriving in its fifty-second year. From the dogmatic faith of those upholding a racially oppressive system to the unquestioning acceptance of those benefiting from it to the confusion, disillusionment and outrage of those who see the evil in the system Ragnorak and the rest of the books in the series realistically capture the horrors of the Third Reich. It is a story rich with political intrigue and hair-raising action as the characters deal with the chaos of relationships and rebellion, betrayal and salvation.
Unfortunately the narration does not live up to the story. Through the emotional highs and lows, the frenzy and calm of the story, Corey Gagne delivers the text in a flat monotone. Some stories benefit from such a deadpan rendition. However, the plot and characters of the Stormfront series are so complex that a more energetic portrayal is needed to reflect their situations and responses, at least for this listener.
Even with the low lustre presentation, Rangnorak and the Stormfront series raise questions about humanity and political systems that are worth contemplating and are well worth the listen.
