About this listen

Anne Shirley is grown up, has married her beloved Gilbert, and is now the mother of six mischievous children. These boys and girls discover a special place all their own, but they never dream of what will happen when the strangest family moves into an old nearby mansion. The Meredith clan is two boys and two girls, with a minister father but no mother---and a runaway girl named Mary Vance. Soon the Meredith kids join Anne's children in their private hideout to carry out their plans to save Mary from the orphanage, to help the lonely minister find happiness, and to keep a pet rooster from the soup pot. There's always an adventure brewing in the sun-dappled world of Rainbow Valley.

Such a joy to listen to!!!

It is heartbreaking to conclude the final book in the Anne of Green Gables book series. And the previous book, Only one choice to listen to, was such a profound disappointment, but this book was read by an actress of wonderful talent and she brought every moment of her to life with such grace and joy, as all of these books deserve. I cannot recommend her reading of the book nor this book series more encouragingly and I only wish that I had read it as a younger person. That being said, perhaps I would not have enjoyed it in the same way. I so wish there were more Anne books and I hope others will have the same joy in the reading and listening.

Excellent continuing story to a classic

I loves the story and the small through back to the original characters. The narrative was not always easy to make out the difference I. The characters but the reader has a pleasant voice and did a fine reading. Would recommend the audio listen.

Canadian children did not have southern American accents.

The readers voice was too mature for a book mostly voiced by children and she gave them American southern accents. Very strange.

Wonderful

My favorite series and such wonderful narration. Ive listened to this series dozens of times and I’m picky about my narration— this is a great one!

Not the best...

I liked it but it was not as good as the first three books. I recommend it.

Love it! Narrator (Pam Ward) is great!

Rainbow Valley is #4 of my list of Anne stories (#1 Anne of Green Gables, #2 Rilla of Ingleside; #3 Anne House of Dream)Maybe Anne is to shallow here (always coming back to her youth) but her children and Meredith story is perfect.

Awful narration

The narrator has a slight Southern American accent for a very Canadian classic. This could be overlooked, but then she gives Mary Vance a very strong Southern American accent. It's awful. Jerry is not pronounced Gary either. The narration ruins a good book.

Good grief

For crying out loud. Is this the whole book? An annoying woman drowning on and on? Couldn’t get past the first few chapters.

Doesn't fit with the other Anne books well

Main characters are barely in books and focuses on totally different characters. I found myself daydreaming and not listening because I was bored
