Publisher's summary

Eliana is a woman on the run. As a Shadow Walker, she is driven from her home in Rome when she believes the man she loved murdered her father. Now she makes her living as an art thief and a competitor in the underground fighting circuit of Paris. But her past is about to catch up with her in the form of The Hunt, a group of elite assassins with one objective: eliminate her before she can expose the secrets of her shape-shifting clan to the world…

Demetrius is a man with nothing left to lose. Haunted by the memory of Eliana and the passion they once shared, he will risk everything to save her from the killers on her tail. He must convince her, before the ancient walls between two worlds crumble, that only together can they defeat their real enemy, a brilliant, cunning traitor far more deadly than either of them can guess.

Hmmm..

Any additional comments?

This third book was just ok for me. Eliana was not at all likable, too self-centered, too hard-headed, too blind to what was really going on around her, nor could I picture her being beautiful since she had "shoulder length, chopped rough and dyed indigo blue hair." Really? And, of course, she would be attracted to someone, Demetrius, with a shaved head, tats and 3 rings in his brow, and he's supposed to be 30 years old? A rebellious 16 year old, maybe. I just can't picture a hero looking like that. But, that's just me. I was so disappointed in the storyline I'm not even sure I'll read the others in this series. I'm only at 43% and I'm having a really hard time keeping an interest in this book. I'll leave an update whether I finish it or not. At this point I'm just not sure.

Update: 7/13... OK I finished it and I'm still disappointed. Everything was just alright for me, nothing special.
However, I do wish someone would kill Viscount Weymouth. I think he's a little too much like Eliana's evil father.
As much as I liked the first 2 books in this series I will go on to the 4th one.

As to the narrator: Wonderful! Ms. Dawe keeps getting better and better with each book she reads. Men sounding like men!! Doesn't get better than that!

Book 3

Interesting, captivating, and full of deception. Iliana & D's story will keep your attention held to the very end. I'm looking forward to book 4.

Rapture s Edge

Raptures Edge by J. t. Geissinger was a gem! I loved this book and its characters. The narrators are spot on, too.

Great Narrative: Poor Narrator

I truly do not wish to write a poor review for any artist , but I write this one in the hopes that the audio narrator will take the well intentioned critique I offer . The book is exceptional and I will read it without audio. However, I have listened to Ms. Dawe in other audiobooks and she is exceptional when she is acting a character. However , when she is not, there is an annoying lecturing , almost yelling tone literally at the very first minute of the narration. It continues throughout the entire narrative and it becomes grating. If she could soften her tone and offer a less "in your face " delivery, it would be a joy to continue to listen to the complete audiobooks I have purchased in the past . There is always a sense of urgency to her delivery where it is not needed to serve the narrative. The listener becomes so frustrated and it is impossible to even relax. To date , I have paid and deleted four ( 4) audiobooks due to Ms. Dawe and her lecturing, and the harsh- tonality where none is needed in the narrative. Please understand that I am an individual who has studied the theatre arts at two of the finest international schools so I do not write this review in a careless or mean spirited manner . Your talent is evident, however, I wish you well to find a voice for the areas I have mentioned . Once again , I
wish you well and will seek your talents at some later date.

Intriguing Tale with Fascinating Characters

What I like most about this series are the strong women. They all have their flaws but all are smart, strong willed and fearless.

Take 2 aspirin and get the print version....

This is the most poorly recorded audio book I've purchased. The sound quality is very bad - echoey and harsh. It was obviously not recorded in a studio, or even an moderately appointed home recording space. The narrator only makes things worse. Though she has a great voice for all the characters - good accents and believable voices which really bring the characters to life, it doesn't make up for the battering narrative sections. The narrated sections (the vast majority of the book) are really hard to listen to - truly headache inducing. I feel like the author is yelling the story at a passing crowd - it is brutal. I couldn't finish the audio version - and I recommend that you stick to the print version, too. Do yourself a favor and at least listen to the sample before purchasing - listen to the entire 5 minute segment. At first you may not find it to be too bad, but after 5 minutes, you will begin to get an idea of how strident and painful the narration is....can you listen to it for another 13 hours?

Best of #3,4,5 books

Would you listen to Rapture's Edge again? Why?

No as these are too long and I have hundreds more first listens. This is a series and many series are Ok not to listen in order, which I don't many times, but this series is best in order. I listened to #5,#4, and now #3 and it would have been better in correct order. This is an on going story, so I have gotten the information out of order. These are not stand alone stories that are linked by some characters. If you only try one of these books I purchased, buy this one first as it is the best.

What does Angela Dawe bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

I purchased this series due to Ms Dawe reading it. She does the best male voices, YUM.She makes "Di" as beautiful, powerful, and ferocious as author intended.

Any additional comments?

Book#2 has an intriguing summery, so it will go on the wish list. Hopefully it will go on sale.If I had it do it over, I would have skipped #4 and started with 2,3,5. This is what happens when we buy on a bulk sale, love a particular readers' work, and have to depend on reviews from other listeners.

Interesting world and fast-moving

This is my favorite story of the series thus far mostly because it felt more focused. This story followed Demetrius or D and Eliana, the former King's daughter. She thinks D killed her father and she doesn't know who to trust. She's currently working with the true bad guys and the question becomes, will she see the truth? There's a lot of push and pull between D and Eliana and the issues with the Ikati evolved. I loved how well JT Geissinger built the world and it's really fascinating. Some surprises abound and overall, this was a fast moving novel. The only thing that I didn't like was that the push and pull and slightly selfish behaviors among the main couple just got a little exhausting towards the end. But a great read (and listen)

I listened to the audiobook and the narrator, Angela Dawe, was good but I have to say, her delivery is very succinct and curt. Sometimes I wish she had a softer voice but overall, she did a good job.
