About this listen

A wallflower gets seduction tips from a playboy athlete - until love changes the rules.

Socially awkward Joellen Bixby has a date every Saturday - with her cat, a pint of ice cream, and fantasies of the way-too-handsome Michael Maddox. She’d give anything to win over the unattainable CEO of her firm, but how can she when she blends in so well with her cubicle? The answer may be closer than she thinks.

Cameron McGregor is a cocky, tattooed Scottish rugby captain who just moved in next door. He’s not Jo’s type - at all - but the notorious playboy is offering to teach the wallflower everything he knows about inspiring desire. Though a lot of women have rumpled Cam’s kilt, Jo is special. Far from the ugly duckling she thinks she is, in Cam’s eyes she’s sharp, funny, and effortlessly sexy. Now, thanks to him, Jo is blooming with confidence and has the man of her dreams within reach.

Unfortunately for Cam, he’s just helped to push the woman of his dreams into the arms of another man - and now he’s in the fight of his life to keep this beauty from getting away.

Humorous and heart-melting.

MELT FOR YOU is a slow burn romance with a likeable heroine and a completely loveable Scottish hero in the USA. I love a good slow burn and it is executed here with perfection. I was swept away by the romance and loving demonstrated in this novel. We have a lovely, intelligent heroine and a quick-thinking, loveable, romantic hero. He inspires a positive transformation in the heroine who needs to be her own champion. Their banter is clever, their chemistry is undeniable and their epiphany leading to admissions of love is gripping.

MELT FOR YOU is also very funny. My face twisted up and I doubled over from regular, sudden explosive laughter. Sometimes I could hardly breathe from laughing so hard.

MELT FOR YOU is second in a series but a standalone. I have to confess that months ago I could not finish the first novel in this series, BURN FOR YOU. I had almost decided this author was not for me when I read a positive review about MELT FOR YOU by a most trusted Amazon Reviewer. She gave MELT FOR YOU 4 stars but I’m doing my best not to gush embarrassingly about how wonderful it was to me. Perhaps the difference is that I listened on Audible. Narrator Pippa Jayne is Ah-May-Zing! She masterfully brings to life all the characters - with their differing accents (especially that Scottish brogue!), ages, personalities and genders - by giving them distinct voices; and “acting” out all the parts with the right tone and comedic timing.

When I clicked to buy the Kindle version on Amazon, the Audible version was made available to sync to the book (Whispersync) for a few dollars more (altogether it was less than buying the Audible version on its own) and I thought “why not?” Best book buying decision. I’m already listening to MELT FOR YOU a second time.

The Kindle version includes an Author’s Note at the end that I felt was very important to read, but the Audible version omits it. Pity. It explains a lot behind the author’s thinking when she imbued the heroine with certain qualities or mind-sets. It’s a good, serious message for all, especially young people.

My advice: if you can, experience the Audible version. To get a good idea of the humour and tone of the book, listen to the Audible sample and/or read the Kindle sample on Amazon.

I am so grateful that I gave JT Geissinger’s writing another chance. I’ll be reading this author’s work again.

This was amazing!!! The quality of her voice and the accents - wonderful. Made the character so real and easy to picture. The story was fun and so nice to see an ugly duckling win. We all love the swan.

cute but annoying at times

This was really cute and definitely followed the "slow burn" formula. I loved Cam from the start but I was extremely frustrated with our heroine and her idiotic obsession with her boss.

It was a fun read and there were some great one liners in there - my favorite being "If you were on life support, I would unplug you to charge my phone"

4.5 star book

I really enjoyed this narrator for the most part especially Cam’s voice! There were a few times Joellen’s character really frustrated and annoyed me, overall she was too weak and woe is me for my liking but the comebacks had me smiling and the ending was worth sticking through the annoying parts.

Fantastic!!!!!

There aren’t enough words for me to describe how much I love this book! The heroine is so relate-able. I am also that girl that struggles with my own image, so much so that I won’t even let people take my picture. I understand that you can be a strong person but can struggle with accepting what you look like and how your mind can trick you into only seeing your flaws. I loved the journey Joellen takes to realize she was a beautiful swan all along. The hero was absolutely perfect and I wouldn’t change a single thing about this book. I loved every single page. This is a top pick of 2018 and going on my all time favorites list. The audiobook was one of the best I’ve ever listened to - narration was really well done.

Cam and Joellen’s story

I read Pen Pal prior to this book and I am blown away by the author’s diverse story telling abilities. Like Pen Pal, this story is superbly written. However, Melt With You is lighter and funny, but yet deep and insightful. The narration is perfection and I loved every part of this amazing love story.

Loved

I loved the story and the narrator. I don’t understand people who rate books and say the main character is a doormat, etc. It’s called character development and there are tons of different kinds of people out there. Joellen and Cam were both amazing. Best book I’ve listened to lately and I will definitely try this author again.
