About this listen

I am Pilot James Airie, a diagnosed schizophrenic. James David Airie, a retired pilot, is my father. Hannah MacLeish Airie, a physical therapist, is my mother. Eric Richard Airie, a neurosurgeon, is my older brother. Twenty years ago, Fiona May Airie, my little sister, disappeared. You might say it caused our family to unravel. It would happen to any family. But now I think all the unraveling is finally over, and it's to time to try and ravel everything back...©2000 by Peter Moore Smith, All Rights Reserved, (P)16 9; 2000 Time Warner AudioBooks (Packaging Elements Only), A Division of Time Warner Trade Publishing Psychological Sagas Suspense Fiction

Couldn't stop listening

Very well written, lyrical, and utterly absorbing. A murder mystery with much, much more to recommend it. Begin with a first-person omniscient narrator and go on from there.

Mr. Stolz Please Read More Books!

This storey is so well written, with absorbing characters and tricky plot, but it is the way the storey was performed by Mr. Stoltz that had me listening closely to every word and then I listened to it again. Wonderful listen!

Haunting

I wasn't sure I would like this book, but I started listening and found myself hopelessly entwined in the characters and in the unfolding mystery. I enjoyed the narration; he was perfect for this book. It is something of a haunting book, leaving you to wonder about the nature of nature of human beings and their capabilities for evil.

Not bad at all

I found this book to be entertaining. The pacing was well structured and kept the reader rapt for the next revealing clue about the mystery of Fiona. The psychiatrist's behavior was uncharacteristic of any psychiatrist I have known, but maybe the character just wasn't a very good psychiatrist...

A compliment to Eric Stoltz, his narraction was superb, comforting and yet a little spooky when it needed to be. And being that the character's voices sounded similar added to the feeling that the main character was totally confused.

Surely this wasn't the best book in the world, but I enjoyed the time I spent listening to it.

Keeps you guessing

The author does a very good job of character development and plot design. I agree that the actions of the psycologist were atypical but beyond that I found the story very captivating. The plot twists and turns and like a good mystery it keeps you guessing all the way. I would like to see more of this author at Audible.

Surprisingly Good!

Wow. I was really caught off guard by this book. It was surprisingly good! The author Peter Moore Smith did a great job keeping me guessing throughout the entire story. He's a really good storyteller. And Eric Stolz did a magnificent job narrating as well. Well done Gentlemen! If you are a fan of audilble books then you must add this one to your collection.

awful

This was just awful, completely unbelievable, gratuitously violent, inaccurate to the max in its descriptions of how psychologists work (I know because I AM a psychologist). I am not squeemish but this was the first audio book I've listened to that I ended up quitting before it was over.
