There's only one thing missing - Bobby Pendragon.
While Bobby remains trapped on Ibara, the battle moves to his home territory: Second Earth. Mark Dimond and Courtney Chetwynde are left on their own to defend Second Earth against the forces of Saint Dane. They must face off against a charismatic cult leader who has risen to power by revealing a shattering truth to the people of Earth: They are not alone.
The Convergence has broken down the walls. The territories are on a collision course. The final phase of Saint Dane's quest to rule Halla is under way.
And Bobby Pendragon is nowhere to be found.

Series starts strong, and DJ is good at giving a tour of a whole society in a few encounters, just enough to reveal what Saint Dane (vaguely communist pseudo villain) is doing. Bobby must always be in the dark and so must the reader. By this point it feels like the other stories weren't much more than plot to drive the stories that happen after the territories were visited. The traveler powers do expand the technical scope of the story but the worlds are so similar to ours it could have honestly been the three earth books and maybe two books of jetting around and battling across the territories, because again, all the characters feel like lessons for Bobby to learn and Saint Dane (D.J.?) impersonates more people than perhaps all the travelers combined. There's some rather strange setups by Saint Dane and his cooky cronies, with that classic societal lecturing he's grown fond of. Old stories are mentioned and that's about it. I recommend reading about past civilizations and historical events, as well as pursuing philosophy if the premise of the series intrigued you. Yes I'm a good deal older now after reading the first six, but other young adult novels do not age simply because I'm not that age. I've actually started new young adult series and have enjoyed them quite a lot. I think the scope simply became too big and the original shine gave way to random encounters that can fill the book, but that also made things quite predictable in the overall direction and the stakes are non-existent because the philosophy undermines tension by bringing in real world dilemmas that get resolved with space magic.
