About this listen

J. Gresham Machen once said, "False ideas are the greatest obstacles to the reception of the Gospel" - which makes apologetics that much more important. Wanting to engage not just academics and pastors but Christian laypeople and seekers, William Lane Craig has revised and updated key sections in this third edition of his classic text to reflect the latest work in astrophysics, philosophy, probability calculus, arguments for the existence of God, and Reformed epistemology.

His approach - that of positive apologetics - gives careful attention to crucial questions and concerns, including the relationship of faith and reason, the existence of God, the problems of historical knowledge and miracles, the personal claims of Christ, and the historicity of the resurrection of Jesus. He shows that there is good reason to think Christianity is true. As Craig says, "If you have a sound and persuasive case for Christianity, you don't have to become an expert in comparative religions and Christian cults. A positive justification of the Christian faith automatically overwhelms all competing worldviews lacking an equally strong case."

This is a great book and the ability to read it and listen to it at the same time is great.

This book is a wonderful guide to apologetics, and how to apply the skill. Not only does it teach one the techniques in apologetics, but it teaches one why apologetics are important now more than ever. Although, the book may be a bit heavy, it is a must read/listen for anyone interested in defending the Christian faith.

One of the foremost books on apologetics.

I have read a few books on this topic, but this is probably the most complete and clear. At minimum people should listen to the debates Craig participates in, and see how reasonable the Christian faith really is. The book will leave far more educated than before. Awesome work.

An excellent book on apologetics

One stop shop for philosophical evangelism. Probably won't make sence to the type of person who thinks you can have 100% proof of a worldview. Can't think of anything to dislike.

Full package, wisdom, passion, utility.

An incredibly erudite apologetic on the Christian Faith. From the existence of the material universe through to the death, burial and resurrection of Jesus Christ, Craig uses logical argument to offer proof of the Scriptural record.

Wonderfully Thought Provoking

This is the best book on apologetics I have read. Highly sophisticated. Great for your Atheist friends. Little background knowledge of Christianity required. Covers arguments for the existence of God as well as arguments for the physical resurrection of Jesus. Read the whole thing!

The ultimate apologetic

This answers many questions. What was the first cause? But what caused the first cause? Therefore, the first cause must have been intentional. Which means that you are intentional. Intelligent answers to the toughest questions!

Excellent Scholarly Work

Great defense of our faith, glad to have people that do the hard work. I like taking it to pass on to those who want proofs of why I believe the way I do besides simple faith.

Great information, technical, scholarly
