I enjoyed this short prequel to Cynthia's story. It gave us a peek into Cynthia's mind. This little glimpse into their meeting was steamy. Definitely makes me want to jump into the next book.

I enjoyed the narrator performance as well.

Good story. The characters were interesting and fun to get to know. Dialogue was witty. I liked the book but wish it had been longer though.

I had a tear or two in my eye as those last words broke my heart. I knew before l started reading, that this story of Cynthia's past would be a humdinger. I listened to this young Cynthia and savored each word, each description, colour, smell and emotion. I felt Cynthia's freedom and knew in my bones that the near future would bring bitter and heartbreaking turmoil. Cal, he came to life for me, big, generous, soft and fell head over heels for the forbidden fruit. Ah... that bad boy image. This is Cynthia's back story and lays the foundation for the next book Rebel Alpha. l can't wait. I'm totally sold! If you've read Anna lowes books you don't need any convincing. The narrator does a fantastic job, she is a pleasure to listen to. These stories are gems. Recommended reading.🤓💥💥💥💥💥

I love all of Anna's books and although this one is short, it is just right to pique your interest. If you have been keeping up with the series you know that Cynthia doesn't seem to have a wild bone in her body. Take a listen to this book and you won't recognize her as she meets her fated mate on a deserted highway and follows her dragon's urging to get closer to him. Can a wolf and a dragon really be destined for each other? We will find out in the series finale.

This is the shortest of prequels but it shows us that Cynthia has a heart, we've always known that she would die for Joey but she never seemed to mourn the loss of her husband, at least not openly, well know we know why! This glimpse from Anna Lowe shows us the young Cynthia before she suffered loss when she believed in following her own desires, in pushing the boundaries, when in some ways she believed herself entitled to choose to find her own happiness.

I am now really impatient for the whole story and hope that this time Cynthia gets to be happy with her fated mate. As for Cal, well I’m already a little in love....

This book is such a tease! I have always felt so much for Cynthia and knew her first love was epic. With the ending this novella has I can only hope she will have a second chance at perfection in her future.

This is a great segue to Rebel Alpha. It gives us a little background about young Cynthia. Interesting that she comes from a wealthy family. You could feel the almost instant attraction of Cynthia and Cal, the biker wolf. Ms. Lowe did a great job of whetting our appetite for more about Cynthia, Cal and especially her son's father. Great job by Kelsey Osborne. I was given this free review copy audiobook at my request and have voluntarily left this review.

Throughout the pearls of desire series Cynthia has been fiercely protective of her privacy, never opening up to anyone so it was nice to get this glimpse of her past. I can’t wait to read her full story.

Enjoyable short story. Having read the book REBEL ALPHA and knowing what happens with these two lovely characters this is quite sweet and sad to listen too.

This is a quick teaser/taster for REBEL ALPHA, book 5 in the Aloha Shifters, Pearls of Desire series.
Such a short taster for a story that I am waiting impatiently to read but so emotional that I had tears in my eyes.
You don’t need to have read the previous books or this short but it will make reading Rebel Alpha that much more enjoyable.
Please note this is just a short sweet taster, not a full book but saying that any book written by this author is a winner for me.

kelsey as always does amazing.. she captures the strength and the love and the emotions of these characters so wonderfully.. plus anna lowe as always has written another amazing story. to hear it come to life in audio is just wonderful. i love it
