About this listen

With a zero-tolerance policy for those in authority, 13-year-old Alden Wamboldt is setting himself up for a life behind bars. His actions are derived from two things - anger and power. He gets his thrills from antagonizing those who should have the rule over him. Well, that, and making his peers hate the day they were born.

But Alden is in for a huge surprise when he meets probation officer Philip Bones, a man whose motto is to “make no bones about it." When it seems everyone else has given up all hope on Alden’s improving, Philip Bones steps up to the plate. He is bound and determined to rescue the young man from self-destruction, but if he can do it, it will go down in history as a miracle.

Exciting story!

Hard hitting truth. Had real heart and soul. I especially enjoyed the dedication of Mr Philip Bones. This is a great story for any teen, either to help a situation or understand someone else. I did enjoy the sarcastic humor that added punch to the story line. I also liked that it shows a young boy can be helped. The narrator is excellent in his many voices. An actual teen narrator added realness to the story line. This is a good book for all ages because our entire family enjoy every word.

I love these books!

I find these books to be so positive and so inspirational. I think all middle school kids should have to read these books. I absolutely love them I should’ve read this one before rebuilding Billy, but you live and you learn. I recommend this book to anyone who likes Christian-based happy endings. Well not necessarily happy endings just satisfying. I must say in this book I really didn’t like Mr. bones his girlfriend I know still in book 2, but I found her to be very selfish and I didn’t understand why Mr. bones left her so much when she wasn’t supportive and she made everything about her. She wanted him to give up everything for her and he was willing to do it and then it wasn’t good enough. You’ll have to read the book to find out what happened, but make sure you read this one first. I have one more and then it’s over. I can only hope the author decides to grace us with yet another book. Like remaking Maxwell or lifting up Landon or re-examining Ethan the possibilities are endless. LOL! Also, before I finish let me just say that this narrator is so awesome. I love him he does such a great job there’s just something about him that sounds so likable except when he’s not being likable yes he still likable. He’s just awesome. He makes the story even better. Think that I read it it wouldn’t of been the same.
