“It’s double the pleasure and double the fun as Woods brings series character Holly Barker, chief of the Orchid Beach, Fla., police department, onstage to co-star with PI Stone Barrington.” (Publishers Weekly)

Interesting, a little long, but definitely enjoyable for a Stone fan. Guess it builds on the relationships with Holly, Carpenter and Lance for later books.
Taken out of the series, its one of Woods poorer plots.

Early Stone Good Read !

I wanted something interesting to listen in my car on a trip; lighter prose works best. This story fit the bill; however nothing here to stretch your imagination or intellect!
Narrator is good and easy to listen to.

Not a bran teaser

Books 1-3 in this series were really enjoyable. Well written with a good plot and enjoyable characters. Unfortunately it seems little of that made it into this book. Holly is a completely different person in this book- reckless, foolish and downright annoying .

Weak link in the Holly Barker series

Great character development. Nice way to tie plot to future books.
A few words were unacceptable.

Lots of excitement but not believable. Too many last minute unrealistic escapes from cold eyed killers.

Great fun but preposterous

This is the old Stone and Holly that we know. This story has twists and turns to make it interesting and a good listen. The story includes (in addition to Stone and Holly), Ham Barker, Lance Cabot, Dino, Herbie, Joan, Ed Eagle and Elaine
with references to some old favorites like Bob Cantor. At times it looks like Stone and Holly are doomed.

Great Holly Barker Story From the "Elaine's Years"

This is one of the best Stone Barrington stories. But I still have so many more books to go.
