Reclaim Your Nervous System is one of the most holistic approaches to healing I have ever read. Mastin does a beautiful job of presenting scientific, life-changing information through a lens that is full of heart and humanity. Throughout the book, you feel like your hand is being held by an unconditionally loving friend, someone who has been exactly where you are, someone who is walking right beside you on your journey to healing.”—LeAnn Rimes, two-time Grammy-Award winning, multi-platinum singer and songwriter

Great info. Audio hard to follow

I think this author has a lot of great information to share but I would recommend getting the written book versus the audio version because it is very hard to understand the narrator. So much information is packed into this book, but it’s hard to take it in because I have to work so hard to try and understand what he is saying throughout most of it because he speaks so quickly and blends words together. I’m trying so hard to get through this book, but I can only listen to it in small pieces because it is causing me more stress listening, which is ironic because I bought the book to try and calm down my nervous system. I hope the author decides to have somebody else narrate this book in a way that is much more relaxing to listen to so we can grasp the great information he has to offer.

This is a Must Read for All

Whether you have experienced trauma, which we all have, supporting someone who has been through trauma or a professional working in the field. This is a must to have on your bookshelf. I’ve been in the field 30 years and have personally been trying to work on my own trauma for more years than that, and this book was able to break down the information so that I could truly understand why,I do what I do. Thank you for this book.

The one book to rule them all

I used to need 5-6 books to put together all the healing, growth and inner work I was doing, but now I only meed one book.

Powerful and Practical

This might have been one of the best trauma healing books I have read. Really powerful and practical. I highly recommend it

Good explanation of the psychology of trauma,

It's a book that will be very impactful for those suffering from trauma-based pathologies, especially as a first step. It could have gone more in-depth into how to heal/grow, since that was the author's entire aim of the book. The author, instead, decided to fill the space that could have gone to describing healing modalities into using flawed science to support his extremely slanted and reductive political views.

Good information for the mind, lacks heart connection.

There’s a lot of good and valuable information in this book, but to me it was like a book pulled together from many other good books. Overall, there was nothing new for me that wasn’t in the IFS books I have already read. I also felt like I was being talked at the entire time rather than talked to. Maybe it reads differently as a book. The author is definitely a coach and mind-oriented with many clients and accomplishments(of which we are constantly reminded). If you are new to the facts of trauma, this book will give you that clearly, however, it was hard for my heart to connect with the way the material was presented..and I really wanted it to.
