An amazing book

Being an extremely sensitive person and a person with a highly dysregulated nervous system this book is helping me find ways to feel safe again in my body. The voice of the narrator is very soothing and I keep wanting to read and learn more. Thanks to Dr Linnea for helping us heal

separating the audio by chapters

the content is great. yet I can't go back to individual chapters. it's just one big audio file. Why would Audible accept such a singular format? again helpful content and concepts. As a highly sensitive person who gets hung up on details, not being able to replay the chapter by selecting it makes it quite difficult to study.

Very good book

I'm still reading this book but until now I had many "Aha"!! moments where I understood what's the root of my desregulation, it has scientific facts, test and techniques to adress it. The content is good and the pace of the reader is understandable and consistent.
I recommend this book to anyone who wants real tools and deeper knowledge.

Very informative. Excellent narration

I thought this was a great overview of the nervous system and appreciated the practical strategies she offered to help restore your system back to health. I also purchased the print version so I would have the various worksheets. The narrator was excellent and easy to listen to.

Eye Opening

This book is extremely helpful to get more in tune with my body and nervous system. I’ve never found such an easy break down of how to calm my nervous system and how to manage triggers and stressors as they come up. This is extremely helpful and I found it very relatable to what I’ve gone through and continue to struggle with at times. I would highly recommend it to others.

good content but needs organization

I'm glad books like this exist and help is needed! I'm so happy she has done the research. I think there is good info on this book but I find it very hard to access. the writing spends a lot of time for shadowing what it will be talking about later and repeating what it has already said. (almost as though it is intentionally trying to be longer. one the main rules of good writing is "don't waste the readers time" ).
I'm listening the the audio and having a very hard staying engaged. I find myself thinking "get to the point!" a lot.
I think there are good points but maybe like a 10 page summary of the book would suffice.

I learned the first step and confused by the rest

I got the first phase, awareness. But the other 4 phases have got me feeling like I don’t know what to do after becoming aware of my tension. A lot of this seems like useless rambling, like just get to the point and tell me what to do.

One of the most impactful books on my healing journey

The narrator voice is soothing and perfectly fit for such an amazing book on healing from disregulation, despite the long introduction I find it very well written with a lot of takeaways and practical suggestions that help everyone on their journey.
