Publisher's summary

Mathias Robichaud is looking for an alliance. The Defiance motorcycle club is a stronghold in the dangerous world that's become the new norm and he's driven to prove he's tough enough to be sworn in as a full member. But when he sees a beautiful, spirited girl abducted by a rival MC, rescuing her jeopardizes all he's worked for.

Politician's daughter Jessa Everson knows what's expected of her - obedience, loyalty and silence - but that doesn't mean she doesn't fight when she's kidnapped by the Lords of Vengeance. Having Mathias save her is like gaining an avenging angel in leather and tattoos. But Defiance is known for brutal justice, and she may have just traded one bad situation for another.

Mathias's urge to protect is too strong to ignore, no matter how much trouble Jessa brings to Defiance's gates. There's no room in the post-Chaos world for weakness so if Mathias and Jessa have any chance of surviving, they'll need to put their full strength behind the MC…and hope that the MC will do the same for them.

Awesome book 2!

This was an awesome second book... I really like that Tru and Kasper was in this too... their POVs... was good to hear after book 1.

Now Mathias.... Ok... I love the fact his girl is a new chick... not one of the girls from the Defiance MC... but the VP daughter... what a stretch there...

This book was good... but I think it had far less action, suspense and overall smexyness that book 1 had. I am looking forward to Bishops book... Hope he is next!

Totally worth a credit, buy or sale. Especially if you have book 1.

Narration was great... same as book 1, so all the characters voices sounds the exact same... Kudos Taylor!

Story was good, but the narration was not

So I decided to give the Defiance series another try with book 2, Redemption. Although this story was much better than the first book (and not a blatant rip-off of SOA) it still lacked "something". I suppose I just didn't feel the romance between Mathias and Jessa. It could have been that the narration was just awful. I really didn't like the voice Emma Taylor used for Mathias. Instead of sounding like a 20 year old hot guy he sounded like a 50+ year old man with a horrible accent. Narration is a personal preference, but this one just didn't work for me. In fact, I think it really ruined the book in my opinion. I also don't understand why this is classified under teens? This is not a YA listen and was more in-line with book 1 which was properly classified as romance.
