About this listen

An unforgettable new series from acclaimed author Katie McGarry about taking risks, opening your heart, and ending up in a place you never imagined possible

Seventeen-year-old Emily likes her life the way it is: doting parents, good friends, good school in a safe neighborhood. Sure, she's curious about her biological father, the one who chose life in a motorcycle club, the Reign of Terror, over being a parent, but that doesn't mean she wants to be a part of his world. But when a reluctant visit turns into an extended summer vacation among relatives she never knew she had, one thing becomes clear: Nothing is what it seems. Not the club, not her secret-keeping father, and not Oz, a guy with suck-me-in blue eyes who can help her understand them both.

Oz wants one thing: to join the Reign of Terror. They're the good guys. They protect people. They're family. And while Emily, the gorgeous and sheltered daughter of the club's most respected member, is in town, he's gonna prove it to her. So when her father asks him to keep her safe from a rival club with a score to settle, Oz knows it's his shot at his dream. What he doesn't count on is that Emily just might turn that dream upside down.

No one wants them to be together. But sometimes the right person is the one you least expect, and the road you fear the most is the one that leads you home.

omg! that ending

had me in tears. Both happy and sad. loved this book though Emily got really annoying at times talking about her "dad" and how she idolized him and her mom. I don't know how many teenagers feel like that about thier parents. anyways over all great book!

I cried like a baby

Would you listen to Nowhere but Here again? Why?

OMG YES! I loved it! It was so unique. The twists, the details, the characters. Everything was perfect!

Who was your favorite character and why?

Oz and Emily were perfect, but I have to say that my fav was Olivia. The best old lady ever.

Have you listened to any of Marguerite Gavin and Sean Pratt ’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

This is my first audio narrated by both of them

If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?

I can't say because it would be a huge spoiler....

Any additional comments?

5 million stars

Oh. My. God. So. Many. Feels.

I’ve wanted to read this book since last year when it was published, but I never, for a million times, imagined that this book would make me cry my eyes out and touch my heart and soul the way it did. Now I understand why Tiffany Reisz told me that Katie’s books were amazing, BECAUSE THEY FUCKING ARE!! The writing style was flawless, the character development was amazing, not only the main ones but also the secondary, and of course the storyline was so original, full of twists and angsty moments that had me crying for hours, and the most sweet relationship ever. Did I say I loved this book? OMG BECAUSE I DID! I TOTALLY LOVED IT! I can’t get enough of it! I need more of Emily and Oz.

Nowhere But Here features the story of a 18 year old girl, Emily who has had a normal, quiet and secure life since she forever. She met her biological father when she was 10 and since then, he has visited her once a year, trying to make some bond with her, but that hasn’t been enough for her. When she is 17, she’s informed her grandmother has died and they all, her mom, adoptive dad and she, fly to Kentucky to present their respects to Eli for his loss and that’s when all the chaos begins. A combination of family secrets, motorcycle club business, a crazy but super awesome family and the sweetest and most amazing relationship with a boy made this book as perfect as it is. As a YA book is expected, there is no sex in it, but the kisses were frantic and intense enough to make me swoon over Oz, my new 18 year old book boyfriend. What? Don’t judge me. I love young guys! *wink*, although I have to say that I kept melting over Eli, Emily’s biological father. He’s that huge tattooed muscled intimidated biker that can make you drop your panties with just listing his eyebrow! *sigh*

This is my first audiobook narrated by Marguerite Gavin, Sean Pratt. I have to be honest, at first I wasn’t so comfortable with Marguerite’s voice but I got used to it really fast. As the story was going, I was more impressed with both performances, not only because their voices are young, which fits perfectly with the story and the characters, but also with their inflections for older people, because they were so good. I particularly liked so much the voice they both made for Olivia, Emily’s grandmother. She always sounded like a wise old lady who always gotten what she wanted. After all she was the president’s woman. I also liked the different emotions they could transmit within their voices. Both narrations did great with this audio, making a perfect companion for such Nowhere But Here.

Lectura fácil de seguir para mí que soy española

Me gustó más que el libro anterior. Prácticamente no leí el libro. Simplemente me limité a escucharlo.

Sweet story of being young and finding yourself

Would you listen to Nowhere but Here again? Why?

No, but only because I heard every word the first time. It's actually a refreshing story that I didn't see coming

What did you like best about this story?

It was clean and heartwarming - -peaceful which was not expected in the "idea" of a biker club story.

What does Marguerite Gavin and Sean Pratt bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

I LOVED the dual voicing!!!! It made the book much more interesting with the boy/girl voices respectively!

If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?

Favorite book this year!

I really loved this book and the characters. If you like Sons of Anarchy tv show, you will probably love this, it's very similar, but it's the kids of the clubs take on life.

I'd take this ride again!

Woooo WHOOO does Katie ever have a flare for the dramatic! This book is certainly dramatic and hott and romantic and more than a little thrilling.

Sexy guys on motorcycles. Yes, please.

This book is about family, secrets, brotherhood, and love. There are moments that made the feminist inside me cringe, but it wouldn't have been so unique otherwise. It's their way of life and boy is it different.

I couldn't stop listening to this book I had to know the truth just like Emily and "Nowhere but Here" is highly recommend to all of Katie's fans.

It's a wild ride, and you won't want it end.

**ALSO the girl narrator Marguerite is a little shrill in the beginning and I was worried I wouldn't be able to stand it, but Sean more than makes up for it, and she grows on you after a while. So march on soldiers you will be glad you did.
