About this listen

Turns out crash-landing into love is possible . . .

Katie is content with her post-alien-abduction life. Not only has she found work as a royal attendant, but her current assignment on a galaxy cruise is enjoyable, too . . . until the ship is brought down by a malevolent species. Now she must rescue her friends and escape a hostile planet—all by herself. Then she crosses paths with a sexy stranger who changes everything . . .

Forced labor in an enemy prison camp was nowhere on Maladek's agenda. But his own troubles will have to wait. Because against all odds, his mate is here. Now he has to focus on getting her to safety—and convincing her that fated mates are real. It would all be so much easier if he had more experience being a hero . . .

The circumstances are dire. Their timing couldn't be worse. Even if they manage to escape their captors, is a happily ever after possible for Katie and Maladek? They're about to find out . . .

Contains mature themes.

In love with another one

love how much detail goes into the caratures and the world that is created. The growth you can feel the couple achieve individually and togather as the book.

A redeemed story

I knew there was something about Maladek I liked and I’m so happy he wasn’t a bad guy. And got his wish of a mate

Jumped from Theo to Maladek - no regrets

ok so I loved the first book but never read the others because at the time I wasn't thrilled about premise of the next book. I moved on and time pasted. I just happened to be looking for a short listen when this popped up in my recommend list. So I gave it a shot and it was worth it. Love the narrator and the story is a bit rushed and a lot of action is cut, but I was ok with that knowing it was a short story. This gave me hope that the rest of the series isn't as dark or boring as I expected so I'm going to go back and pick up book 2. There were no spoilers here. this is a self contained story, but it was apparent it takes place sometimes later in the series but it didn't ruin anything for me as far as I can tell. So I would recommend it as a stand alone.

Novellas waste no time getting to the nooky

Alien romance books aren’t meant to be high art, nor do I get them for deep, complex love stories. Instead, I want sexy, growly hunka hunka aliens and plucky ladies open to new kinds of love. The premise of Clecanians knowing their true mate through the bond-marks on their body should allow couples to get to acceptance sooner, seeing as the marks identify the perfect partner. Yet, this series seems determined to dwell in angst, drawing out each HEA. As each book in this series gets longer and longer, I’ve enjoyed them less and less. Thank goodness for the novella, which gets to the good stuff so much quicker.

This novella has just enough plot to make things interesting. I like that we get off of Clecania and found Maladek’s ground-working talent interesting. I would have liked a bit more detail spent on the imprisoning aliens and the hulking, tunnel boring beasts on that prison world, but was fascinated by the bird-like aliens that employed Katie. There was a lot of “who could love me” insecurity in both of them, but at novella length, that was more easily forgiven. Ultimately, I got the campy and the sexy, and two or three naughty scenes for novella value.

Love Love Love ❤️

I love ❤️ the way this author spins a tale. It is so referring to have a strong FMC confident enough to express her desires without a TON of inner dialog of self-doubt or choosing to be a B#@ch until she finally realizes her true mate. A little of that is great, but there are many authors who go over the top.

The story had everything I could want in a scifi romance, suspense, main characters working together throughout most of the book, oh...and we can't forget about the spicey chemistry between them. 🔥🥵🩲💦🔥. I'm hoping for more books in this series. 🙏

Too short!

I love Maladek I'm disturbing he receiving a short book when Verakko should have been the short one and made this longer! 😂🤣

Maladek gets redeemed

This whole series is one of my favorites! After learning about Maladek's role and then sacrifice in "using Fejo" it's really nice to see how he found love in all the wrong places. Katy was perfect for him and he gave her purpose and the love and acceptance she needed.
And don't let me get started on Stephen Dexter! I'm a huge fan. Huge. I'm thrilled that he's been the only narrator in this series. He has a strong masculine voice while inserting all the sighs and hesitations adding to a person's emotional reactions. Excellent performance for an excellent book!
