About this listen

Lost. Stolen. Forgotten...until the Alphabits step in.

Sam Remington, former leader of Team Beta, has a new dream: to lead a team whose sole purpose is to protect those most vulnerable - shifter pups.

His new mate, Dean, shares his passion. As a child counselor, Dean is all too familiar with the darker side of the world when it comes to pups. If Sam can rescue them, Dean will do his best to help fix them.

Sanctioned by Team Alpha’s bossman, the great Ray Perkins himself, Alphabits is Sam’s baby. This new hand-picked team consists of five highly-trained wolf alphas - and one bumbling bear who couldn’t take a hint. As always with a new team, personalities will clash. But at the end of the day, they all share a common goal: help lost, missing, and hurting children - starting with the needy wolf pup who lives across the street from Sam and Dean.

The Alphabits aren’t vigilantes. These former soldiers and officers of the law have to do things by the book - even when it tears them apart to do so. But once all their ducks are in a row, the bad guys had better beware! You do not want this team of protective alphas on your tail.

Sweet premiere!

I love this low key, hopeful, sweetheart of a story. After the harsh and often cruel world of the Alpha Team, the Alphabits team needs to set itself up as equally as qualified but with a softer, gentler side, as befitting the targets of its services. The love between Dean and Sam is a pleasure to watch, and their protective instincts concerning John are a delight. It was great to watch Sam lead his team to organize and begin the work of this new team, and the writers manage to entertain us with the antics of the team members, particularly the twins. The warmth and reality of the characters are further established by Cyrus's bumbling but ultimately helpful persona and Sam's unexpected meltdown when Dean goes into labor, in contrast to his expected behavior as the alpha and the leader of his team. And then there's John, the sweet little boy who becomes the first 'case' that the Alphabits team solves satisfactorily. The performance was quite good, especially because the narrator was so successful in presenting each character at a different level of the voice range. His reading was clear and with very few misreadings. Overall, a successful piece!

An unexpected delight

This is one of the best Susi Hawke books I have heard/read to date. It is an AO mpreg shifter story, but not the typical trope.

In this world, a group of alphas have joined to form the Alphabits team. This team apparently works primarily to solve cases involving children.

The leader of the group is Sam. He and his new mate have just bought a new house and are expecting a baby. When a young pup shows up in their yard, Dean, Sam's mate, is convinced that the child is in danger. But in order to help him, they must go about things the right way; which means sending the boy back to the man who came looking for him.

Eventually, the team gets the break they need, and Sam and Dean are able to bring the child home to foster. As time goes by, they agree that they hope they don't find the boy's natural parents.

Meanwhile, the team is still working on other cases of missing children. They are making progress, so I believe this is not the end of the story.

Overall, I really enjoyed this listen. There is only one steamy scene that I recall, and one alluded to. The alphas and omegas mate, but there is no mention of fated mates or pheromones.

As usual, John Solo did a great job with the narration. His characters are well differentiated and his nuances are spot on.

Great New Series

A great start to a new series that is a spin-off of a wonderful series. Wonderful story that introduces the characters that make up the newly formed Alphabits team. This story focuses on Sam, the team leader, and his mate Dean. I really enjoyed this story and watching the team come together. Loved seeing Sam and Dean taking in John and their endless patience with him and truly making him a part of the family. The narrator was great with all of the voices. I was given this free review copy audiobook at my request and have voluntarily left this review.

I feel another great series headed our way

This book takes place after book 7 in the Team A.L.P.H.A. series and though it can be read without the prior series, I highly recommend reading Team A.L.P.H.A. first.

This is a more in-depth story to Sam and Dean's relationship after they mate at Bossman and Papa P's house. By this point, they are just starting their new team that is created for the sole purpose of rescuing missing shifter children. While they are investigating their first case, another case falls into their lap and it takes their love and dedication to help the poor pup recover from his past.

I look forward to the next book in the series. So far, this is the first story narrated by John but based on other books I've heard by him and with how well he did on this one, I hope he narrates the rest in the series as well.

Good

Different but just as good as the Team ALPHA series. I enjoyed that it was more story driven rather than action and sex.

Fantastic Story, John Solo is Wonderful

I didn’t realize when I started Rescued that it was a spinoff of another series. Believe me, I had no trouble following along, but it sure made me hungry to read the A.L.P.H.A. series by Susi Hawke and Crista Crown… or in my case, listen to the series.

Rescued is narrated by John Solo, and his skill set is perfect for this one. The variety of voices he uses for these characters blows me away. Everything from a host of gruff Alphas, to a female vulture shifter, and even small children. Mr. Solo adds personality and depth to each of them, and brings the whole thing to life.

There’s a fascinating story here and I can’t wait to get into the remaining two books in the series. A team of male shifters who are dedicating their lives to finding and rescuing shifter pups in need? I love it. I doubt Ms. Hawke and Ms. Crown will ever run out of stories for this one (at least I hope they don’t).

an audiobook copy of Rescued (Alphabits #1) was provided to me for the purpose of my honest review

New team, new pack

A riveting new introduction to the new team of alphabits which come together to save children. We met this couple in the previous series and I was so glad we got to see them grow.
It was so great to see the new characters being introduced and leaning their individual quirks.

The plot is heartbreaking at times with a little pup in need of rescuing but I loved how the narration draws you in.

John Solo did an articulate job with this one and each character was well discerned. Definitely a recommended one to listen to.

Amazing!

This is such an amazing spinoff from Team Alpha. I just absolutely love Sam and Dean! John Solo does an amazing job bring these characters to life and I just couldn't stop listening. It is just amazing to listen to a story. I just get more pulled in then if I was just reading. Can't wait for more.
