About this listen

This audiobook used to be titled Assisting Aimee and was a part of the Kindle Worlds program. It has been reworked and updated, but the basic story has not changed. If you've purchased Assisting Aimee in the past, there is no need to repurchase.

This audiobook can be listened to at any point in the series. It's labeled as audiobook 10, but in reality, it could be audiobook two, or four, or eight. I just didn't want to renumber the entire series.

Aimee O’Brien has harbored a not-so-little crush on her school’s new first-grade teacher since the beginning of the year. Tall, muscled, with long hair, a beard, and a penchant for wearing silly ties to amuse his students...the man is too gorgeous for words. As the PE teacher, Aimee’s wardrobe consists of casual gym clothing not likely to catch anyone’s eye, so no one is more surprised than her when Tony makes his interest clear.

Tony Santoro’s time in the military directly influenced his new choice of career - and his choice in women. He’s looking for someone of substance, and Aimee has far more to offer than just her adorably disheveled look. He can’t wait to see what’s hiding under those sweatpants and tees - but he might have missed his chance. The very day he finally works up the nerve to ask Aimee out is the day unspeakable violence explodes in the school.

Trapped in the gym, Aimee and Tony will have to work together to get out with their lives...and the lives of the dozens of students trapped with them.

Author note: In this story, Aimee and Tony deal with a threat that’s all too real in today’s society; the subject matter may be too sensitive for some listeners.

Short but entertaining

This was a nice short romance/action read. I look forward to learning more about Jones.

Once A Delta, Always A Delta

This is a quick read. Though this time I listened to it. Aimee and Tony are a great duo. When their school is taken over by a man with a gun, things get hairy, quickly. But in the end they’re able to get things done and save lives.

This is listed as book 10, you can read it in any order but I think it fits best between books 1 and 2.... some of our favorite Deltas make an appearance as does one of the best characters of their series. Ya gotta read to see what I mean.

Another winning story

The story seems like it is out of today's news. The one thing I appreciate is Ms. Stoker approach to the school shooting. And we have a great ending both at the school and with Aimee finding love. Stella Bloom delivers a great performance. This book is a winner.

Emotional story

Rescuing Aimee might be on the shorter side for one of Susan Stoker’s books. It isn’t short on story or character development. Both Tony and Aimee were complete without drag down over descriptions or scenes. There is the more noticeable guy is teacher drama, and gym teacher loves being in comfy clothes with her kids. It was a feel good story to pass a couple of hours.

With Stella Bloom as the narrator to bring the story to life, you’ll find yourself emotionally invested in no time. I had to reach for the tissues a couple of times. The story brought in previous characters at least in mentioning, keeping the different teams blending together. If you’re familiar with the various series, you’ll know that Tex is like the glue that holds all the guys together. He is mentioned a few times. However, this was a completely stand alone listen.

If you want to skip the sexy parts, you can stop the audio with about 20-25 minutes left. While there was nothing wrong with the sexy parts, I just know that some like to skip it. The epilogue picks up with 4 minutes left.

Good listen, but...

While I enjoyed this audiobook, it seemed to have a rather thin storyline. It was a much shorter listen than most of Susan Stokers other books and I think it could have been better if it was more fleshed out. Some of the secondary characters seemed to be added in as an attempt to tie hero to previous characters. Overall it was just okay. Narration was well done.

A repeat

I enjoy the series but this story was an exact replica from an earlier story.
