When you're a Delta Force soldier, you see a lot. Often too much. But nothing can ever prepare you to see your entire team die before your eyes....
The loss of his Delta brothers - and his arm - has Dane "Fish" Munroe still struggling months later. He's moved to Idaho, where an isolated lifestyle is making things worse, not better. Not that there's anyone left to care.
Actually, Bryn Hartwell cares. In fact, she tries to surreptitiously make life just a little easier for the mysterious man who comes into the grocery where she works late at night, only to get a tongue lashing for her trouble. Still, he's obviously hurting; someone has to worry about him, spurring Bryn to nurse Dane when he hits a particularly low point.
Intrigued by the quirky, kind, socially awkward woman, Dane allows himself to get close to someone for the first time in ages. A potentially epic mistake - because when her interest in the prepper lifestyle puts Bryn in the hands of a homegrown terrorist, losing her could put Dane's mental recovery permanently out of reach.
But once a Delta, always a Delta. And there's a team in Texas who are ready to have Dane's back at a moment's notice.
Rescuing Bryn is the sixth book in the Delta Force Heroes series. Each book is a standalone, with no cliffhanger endings.

This is the 6th book in Susan Stokers Delta Force Series.
Dane Monroe was involved in a roadside bomb that not only killed his entire team, but also destroyed his arm. The Delta Team shows up and Truck saves Danes life. Dane's sense of self was destroyed along with his arm, Truck shows up periodically, talking Dane out of his head. While talking with Truck on the phone one night, Dane notices some crazy stalker chick. He goes up to her, in true man fashion, and enters his foot into his mouth. Bryn Heartwell is the crazy stalker chick (she is a certified genius, that spouts out random facts as they hit her head). She has noticed him for awhile at the grocery store she works at. She tries to help him from the background. After he chews her out, she quits her job...for him.
After some minor drama, they end up getting together and Bryn gets fascinated with the Prepper Lifestyle. When Bryn gets into something, she can't stop until she has learned it all. This fascination with the lifestyle leads her to get kidnapped. In true Susan Stoker style, Dane has no clue where to find her. He puts some clues together and figures out where she is.
Can he save her? Does he get his happy ending? Does he get his head out of his butt enough to figure out he needs her; that she makes him "normal"?
This book kicks butt! Once you start it, you'll NEVER be able to put it down!!
Susan Stoker didn't disappoint! This is AMAZEBALLS

Regarding the narrator, sometimes the rough, tough men, who probably should have deeper voices, didn't. But hey, the narrator has a nice voice and for the MOST part, the listening was a pleasure.
Thanks!
I liked it

Woohoo! I’m so glad Fish got his girl! I have liked him since we first met him in this series. He’s the new adopted brother of the Delta’s and I honk he adds a new piece to the crazy puzzle.
Dane Monroe, aka Fish, moved to the middle of nowhere Idaho to start over. This is where he meets Bryn. She’s a quirky, very outspoken, fact finder that has no idea she’s just the person for Dane. They’re first meeting isn’t all that, pleasant, however, that sets the stage for a whirlwind of crazy to sweep over them both.
When Bryn’s curiosity gets the better of her Dane is left in a tailspin. There is only one call to make though. Within no time his Delta Force friends are there to help save his woman from the clutches of a terrorist.
It’s that life long bond that helps Dane make it through the hard times. It’s having a woman he loves by his side. It’s what makes this story so dang good to read!
Yes! I loved it!

🔹I loved both characters! (Bryn and Dane had a fabulous connection!)
🔹Just the pros n cons - you decide...
🔹Pros - This book goes 0 to 60 the entire duration!
Bryn is a highly intelligent woman, self supportive, hard working, college educated, adventurous and BALLZY!
Dane (aka: Fish) is a wounded warrior suffering from PTDS. He is hurt and lonely but caring under his armor.
These two find love in a small Idaho town and help each other through their quirks. I adore how Bryn is so patient with Dane and how caring Dane is with Bryn's OCD & Aspergers.
They are both 100% committed, understanding and gentle with one another. A sweet sweet story!
I'm so happy these love birds found each other in this crazy world!
🔹Cons- Nothing major, overall a fun book.
I have to be honest, I was a bit upset when Bryn went "pokin around" in the woods in search of the fertilizer dude! As "intelligent" as he was, its ridiculous to think she would take off into the woods (throwing caution to the wind) in search of danger...come on! She could have gotten Dane and his amigo killed!
Since her Aspergers or OCD was that severe, she should have gone on Medication. If she was not only smart enough to make it into college (and had money for college) Im sure she would of had money saved to see a doctor and get professional help for her condition.
If she would have gotten the help she needed (perhaps Zoloft?) she could have gotten her "rambling" under control. This would have helped her in her daily life and at work.
Bryn seemed like a very nice person - very caring but her high octane ...run on sentences and abrupt preaching (due to her AS or OCD) was a bit too much. This could have been helped with a low dose med. Just sayin!
♥️So happy they found love! Cheers and Namaste Stoker fans!
♥️Kudos to the Sensational Stella for narrating all characters- YOU ARE STEALTH!
🍷Aspergers Arousal ASAP!

Love Dane and Bryn. Both hero and heroine are so different from your average romance H/h.
He with his PTSD and amputated arm and her with her Aspergers made this a sweet heart warming story about two people who need healing finding each other and never letting go.
Amazing!!!

But you will love quirky Bryn and her unending facts... they made me laugh several times throughout the story and especially when picturing Fish trying to keep a straight face.
Good Story
