About this listen

“I never meant to leave him. I was just a scared kid.”

Wren Lee is a hot-shot surgeon who’s just accepted a new position at Denver General. He expects to prove himself to his patients and colleagues...but never dreams he’ll come face-to-face with the man whose heart he broke in high school. The man that Wren has been longing for ever since.

“I can’t believe the nerve of him!”

Nate Wells still has a sore spot where Wren is concerned...and when Wren transfers into the hospital where Nate is gunning for the position of head nurse, he feels like the bruise on his heart is being injured all over again. He tries to stay away...but sometimes second chances are worth the risk.

They build them big in the town of Harlan, Colorado - where the winters are beautiful and the mountain men are gorgeous. Listen along as we join them in Harlan, where the pain of the past drips away as these sexy, rugged mountain men find their true loves, and embrace a lifestyle of happily-ever-afters.

Second Chance

A wonderful addition to this outstanding series. I love Wren and Nate, they are spectacular characters and I was really rooting for them. The road to forgiveness is not an easy one but I really enjoyed watching them fall in love all over again. I love how supportive Wren is of Nate and I really like how they work together to get rid of the horrible man causing Nate so much trouble. The narrator did a great job with these characters and with the story itself. I voluntarily reviewed a gifted copy of this audiobook.

Second chances

This is Nate and Wren’s story and for these guys it’s a second chance at love. High school sweet hearts that see things change because of family. With the support of friends these two eventually work things out and get over their grievances to have a second chance at love. Both characters are strong willed and have a passion for the work that they do so it’s great to see them come together. And of course Guillaume does a fantastic job on the narration.

Wren and Nate

Loved, loved, loved Wren and Nate! Wren's second chance with Nate doesn't come easy. Nate is pissed that Wren left him without a word and never attempted to find him again. There is just too much history, too much emotional connection for Nate to hold onto his anger. I liked that he was willing to let Wren explain and his forgiveness in instant and complete. Wren's protective streak is swoon-worthy. It was great seeing Jamie from Here For You make an appearance and bring down a truly despicable man.
The narrator does an excellent job with the main characters' voices and his cadence and enunciation are terrific. I didn't personally care for his voice for the children but it didn't detract from my enjoyment of the story.

NEVER ASSUME - A RIVETING SECOND CHANCE STORY

This story shows that there is sexual harassment in all walks of life. This in the form of a male Chief of Surgery against male nurses. Also, the portrayal and explanation of the split between Wren and Nate left me with the sense of Nate assuming things without giving Wren the benefit of the doubt, Wren ghosting him for twenty years, makes me wonder if all genders think the same – no matter the sexual orientation. I was happy to see a HEA.

The narration is not as good as it has been with the other books. I thought that Ryder was speaking in one scene and he isn’t mentioned in the book at all.

I received this audio book for free and am giving my honest and voluntary review

Loved it

This is the sixth book in the For You Series with well-developed characters. This story about Wren and Nate, who were childhood friends and lovers (second chance romance). It’s been 20 years since they last saw each other. This is their journey of getting the truth out, forgiveness, and learning to love again. I cannot wait to listen to the other books. The narration was very well done.

Short and sweet second chance romance

Another wonderful read from J.P. Oliver. This book was intense with lots of drama and sweet romance. I love seeing Nate and Wren falling in love again. Apparently this is a series and this is the sixth book. I need to get the rest. Guillaume Dubois narration was good, I enjoyed listening to him bringing these characters to life. I was given this audiobook by the Author and voluntarily left this review.

Second Chance at (MM) Romance..

J.P. Oliver is like the master of sweet romance, I swear I'm going to catch diabetes from his sweet stories that always have the perfect amount of sweet, sexy and drama, which happens to relate to real life situations with out going over the top in the dramatic department. Return for You, narrated but the talented Guillaume Dubois, is about Nate and Wren, who were childhood BFFs and teenage lovers. When Wren's overly religious parents discover private letters from Nate to Wren, Wren is "sent away" the following day, leaving young and hurt Nate with a lot of unanswered questions. Fast forward 20 years later and life's circumstances has brought these two together, but Nate isn't so quick to forgive.

We're taken on the journey of what it means to forgive, learn to love again, familial and work obligations, as well as becoming familiar with the one person who holds the key to your heart, or in this case, the one who got away with your heart but has returned and is hoping you'd forgive them? LOL! Nate and Wren are sweet and Guillaume Dubois narrates in a way that you can actually hear their emotions, if that makes any sense. I can't wait to hear more from this narrator as he grows into his characters.

A wonderful and sweet read from J.P. Oliver, I enjoy his stories, especially if I'm looking for something to get me out of my reading slump. Happy listening all!

Sweet 2nd chance

This is kinda of a heartbreakingly sweet 2nd chance, I really wanted to hug both MCs. It's a pretty quick and emotional listen. Dubois does and ok job with a few stumbles here and there, overall a pretty good listen.
