About this listen
An intimate, funny and frank account of the moments behind the music, of the truth behind the headlines and of the fascinatingly complicated man behind the imperious entertainer, Reveal is Robbie Williams as you've never seen him before.
More than 12 years ago, Robbie Williams and Chris Heath published a groundbreaking memoir, Feel, about Robert P. Williams' rise to fame - a book that was met with worldwide acclaim from critics and fans alike.
Since that time Robbie has released six solo albums, reunited with his old band Take That and, in the wake of his 12th UK number-one album, returned to the stage with a sold-out run at Wembley Stadium.
In Reveal, best-selling author Chris Heath has been working closely with Robbie for many years to create a personal and raw account of fame, fortune, family and music - a vivid and detailed story of the real highs and lows as Robbie has found his way forward, that is unprecedented in its intimacy and honesty.
Long-awaited by millions, Reveal is the uncensored and compelling portrait of the man as you've never seen him before.

This is the memoir music fans have been waiting for. Half of one of the greatest partnerships in popular music, Bernie Taupin is the man who wrote the lyrics for Elton John, who conceived the ideas that spawned countless hits, and sold millions and millions of records. Together, they were a duo, a unit, an immovable object. Their extraordinary, half-century-and-counting creative relationship has been chronicled in biopics (like 2019's Rocketman) and even John's own autobiography, Me. But Taupin, a private person, has kept his own account of their adventures close to his chest, until now.

Story
Hailed as the most compelling biography of the German dictator yet written, Ian Kershaw's Hitler brings us closer than ever before to the heart of its subject's immense darkness. From his illegitimate birth in a small Austrian village to his fiery death in a bunker under the Reich chancellery in Berlin, Adolf Hitler left a murky trail, strewn with contradictory tales and overgrown with self-created myths. One truth prevails: the sheer scale of the evils that he unleashed on the world has made him a demonic figure without equal in the 20th century.

Story
What was it like to be John Lennon? What was it like to be the castoff child, the clown at school, the middle-class suburban boy who pretended to be a working-class hero? How did it feel to have one of the most recognizable singing voices in the world but to dislike it so much he always wanted to disguise it? Being John Lennon is not about the whitewashed Prince of Peace of “Imagine” legend - because that was only a small part of him. The John Lennon depicted in this book is a much more kaleidoscopic figure, sometimes almost a collision of different characters.

Story
Dreaming the Beatles is not another biography of the Beatles or a song-by-song analysis of the best of John and Paul. It isn't another exposé about how they broke up. It isn't a history of their gigs or their gear. It is a collection of essays telling the story of what this ubiquitous band means to a generation who grew up with the Beatles' music on their parents' stereos and their faces on T-shirts. What do the Beatles mean today? Why are they more famous and beloved now than ever? Find out.

James Hetfield, with whom many years ago Mustaine founded a band known as Metallica, once observed, with some incredulity, that Mustaine must have been born with a horseshoe up his ass. That's how lucky he's been, how fortunate he is to be pulling breath after so many close calls. And Hetfield is right. Mustaine has been lucky. He has been blessed. But here's the thing about having a horseshoe lodged in your rectum: It also hurts like hell. And you never forget it's there.

Joy Division changed the face of music. Godfathers of alternative rock, they reinvented music in the post-punk era, creating a new sound - dark, hypnotic, and intense - that would influence U2, Morrissey, R.E.M., Radiohead, and numerous others. The story is now legendary: In 1980, on the heels of their groundbreaking debut, Unknown Pleasures, and on the eve of their first U.S. tour, the band was rent asunder by the tragic death of their enigmatic lead singer, Ian Curtis.

Story
Elliott Smith was one of the most gifted songwriters of the 90s, adored by fans for his subtly melancholic words and melodies. The sadness had its sources in life. There was trauma from an early age, years of drug abuse, and a chronic sense of disconnection that sometimes seemed self-engineered. Smith died violently in LA in 2003, under what some believe to be questionable circumstances, of stab wounds to the chest. By this time fame had found him, and record-buyers who shared the listening experience felt he spoke directly to them from beyond: astute, damaged, lovelorn, fighting, until he could fight no more.

Story
From the moment their hugely influential 1978 debut landed, Van Halen set a high bar for the rock 'n' roll lifestyle, creating an entirely new style of post-'60s hard rock and becoming the quintessential rock band of the 1980s. But the high-flying success was fraught with difficulty, as Eddie struggled with alcohol and drug addiction while simultaneously battling David Lee Roth over the musical direction of the band, eventually taking the band in an entirely new direction with Sammy Hagar and scaling new heights, before that iteration of Van Halen disintegrated.

Tom Scharpling is good at being funny, which is a miracle, considering what he’s survived. Like hitting a deer and narrowly escaping with his life on the night of the 2016 election. But that’s nothing compared to the struggles he had earlier in his life. It Never Ends is his memoir of a life writing comedy amidst a lifelong struggle with mental illness, a story he has never told before. It’s the heartbreaking account of his intense coming-of-age, and the lengths he’s undertaken to pull away from the brink of self-destruction.

I'm always eager to learn more about Robbie, who is a one of a kind entertainer. I love this book! So many great stories. Besides, Joe Jamison, the narrator, is a true artist. Excelent reading rhythm and impersonation of the various voices in this book. Robbie's and Gary's were incredible. I almost thought It was them speaking.

Human
I read some of the negative reviews not finding this authentic. I don’t agree. He isn’t painting himself a saint. He has some strong insecurities that creep up which isn’t an easy thing to admit publicly. He also owns up to behaving badly quite a bit. He has a cheeky way about him that can come across as arrogant but it’s part of the “bad boy charm”. The guy was famous so young, really difficult NOT to be. Robbie Williams is human. I feel like he has grown up at least a bit, not too much, though! That’s a good thing!

Absolutely Briliant!
First of all I am in awe of the dedication of Chris Heath to making this book the no holds barred masterpiece that it is. The years spent putting this together is mnd boggling and I for one am very grateful. Secondly...the narrator Joe Jameson is masterful in bringing this story to life! He shifts into characters effortlessly and fluidly and made me question if Rob himself had actually recorded his own quotes.... he is that good! I smiled for my own reasons many times while listening but I also cringed at times. It is as raw as you can get! 👏

Honest and insightful, brilliantly read
A thoroughly enjoyable biography that provides an intimate look at Robbie the artist and human, disposing with false rumors and opening up the humorous, intelligent and vulnerable person that Williams is. The book benefits from the proximity of its author to Robbie as a friend and confidante. The quality of the narration cannot be topped, as Joe Jameson does spot-on voices of Robbie and others. It was like having Williams right in my ear!

Don’t waste your time.
What a let down. Totally boring. It gives a light on how full of himself, he is.
I am no longer a Robbie Williams fan.

What a Tool!
I LOVED this man until I listened to this book. He’s SUCH a dick. His humility is a toy he uses, NOT authenticity. Ugh I’m so disappointed. I don’t know what kind of saint his wife is but he’s lucky to have her. He also has a major victim complex. I was hoping he would be a better person. He’s also a dog with women and a nasty fighter. Maybe it’s all due to mental illness in which case shame on his enablers.
Positives- excellent narration. Well written.
