Excellent book!! Charlyn aka ‘Charlie’ is down on her luck. The 25yo has lost her job, had her roommate steal all of her money and possessions and didn’t pay the rent! Now she’s about to be evicted...if she doesn’t exchange favors with the creepy property manager...ick! Salvation comes in the form of an ad for a ‘Man-Girl Friday’ assistant job in a small town. The night before she meets her new boss, Charlie hooks about with a quiet, handsome man in a bar at a nearby town then he’s gone. Until...yep, you guessed it, the hookup is none other than he new boss!
Maxx needs an assistant ASAP to help clean and organize his home and his autoshop. He’s just recovering from being betrayed by his ex and is not the nicest of guys to be around. Letting loose at the bar was an anomaly for him but, hey, he won’t be seeing Charlyn again. Now he’s about to meet his new employee, Charlie, whom, he hopes will really work out in making his life easier. What he gets is Charlyn aka Charlie...Maxx’s new Girl Friday! Without anymore spoilers, just know that the ensuing weeks is a battle of wills and witt between a grumpy, growly man and his spunky, sassy, Girl Friday. You will be highly entertained by their banter and fights; the steamy moments and the love and friendship of some of the townspeople. There is even a bad guy! John Lane’s performance of Maxx really did it for me...perfect choice for the growly man!! Maxine Mitchell is the best at portraying the sassy Charlie! This book will keep you engaged from Page 1 all through the Epilogue! Definitely recommend and will be in my re-read/listen list!

The growly bear and his Girl Friday

Charly and Maxx were at low points in their lives. He needed a girl Friday, she needed a safe place to land. They both had rollercoaster to find their HEA, just buckle up and enjoy the ride.

I thoroughly this. It has a good story and excellent characters. I loved that the female lead was feisty yet likable, sweet but didn’t take any shit. Good time!

Fun and sexy

I enjoy reading and listening to Melanie Moreland books, but I would listen to a grocery list if it was told by both John Lane and Maxine Mitchell. Maxine Mitchell’s male voice is far sexier than most male narrators I’ve heard. I read the series, then listened to it and now am listening again.
I highly recommend this whole series.

Such sexy voices!

I listened to it twice because I loved it. My only complaint is the female narrator. I really don’t like her nasal and whiney voice, although this is probably one of her better performances. I switched to 2.2x speed for her chapters/sections. The male narrator is good and suited to the character although he sometimes exaggerates with lowering his voice.
I loved both characters and the story.

Great characters, fun story

As I have come to expect from a book from Melanie Moreland, Revved To The Max was well written with characters whose story you cannot help but become invested in. This is Maxx Reynolds and C. L Hooper’s (aka Charly, Charlynn, Red) story. The narration by John Lane and Maxine Mitchell certainly brought the story to life for me. I could listen to them for hours without needing a break.

When Maxx places an add for an assistant, he had no idea that by doing that he is about to change his life in ways he doesn’t expect. He has no idea that the Charly he hired on line is in fact a stunning and gorgeous woman. The chemistry that sizzles between them is so hot that I could almost feel myself bursting into flames.

Charly is such a strong, sassy, feisty woman and I loved her, Max is totally swoon worthy even if he is a little rough around the edges. Charly wants Maxx, the only question is can she convince Maxx to take a chance on them?

The secondary characters were entertaining and added an additional layer to my enjoyment. The banter between them is fun, their is so much humour that I felt like I had a permanent smile on my face. There was some angst, love and romance and all in all I was riveted from the first to the last chapter.

Loved it - Great story and great narration

I loved both of the characters so much. They were fun and funny and the kind of people you can’t help but like. Just enough cat and mouse and very hot sex. The whole clothes issue was hilarious. One of my favorite books.

A real believable story

I. Loved. Every. Minute. Of. This. Book. It will make you laugh, cry, think, hold your breath, cringe in parts, scream, and laugh again. It’s so well written and will definitely tug at your heartstrings. Revved to the Maxx is angsty and MESMERIZING! The banter, the heat, the push and pull, and back and forth between Charly & Maxx is OFF THE CHARTS and HELLA SWOONY!! A great love story with a strong heroine and heart-stoppingly delicious, grumpy hero. Maxine Mitchell & John Lane do an amazing job portraying the characters, bringing them to life and humanizing them with their emotions, attitude and personality. They do more than giving their characters their voices, they fall into the roles and become the character.

Charly & Maxx’s chemistry is OFF THE CHARTS and SWOONY!!
