About this listen

Megan Harwood never wanted to be a hero. She just wanted to indulge the two great loves of her life, woodworking and music, and for the last few years, she's done just that, running a small guitar making business in Sun City, Florida, with her dad's help. But when Megan refuses to sell her shop, she ends up on the hit list of the Unitarium, an organized crime syndicate made of up supervillains and their minions.

After being grabbed off the street and used as a test subject in one of their experiments, Megan begins hearing a woman's voice in her head. A voice that turns out to be Eurion, the beautiful woman Megan has had a crush on for the past year. A woman who also claims to be an ancient red dragon. With Eurion's guidance, Megan is able to escape from the Unitarium's clutches, and in the process, she discovers that they have infiltrated the Department of Metahuman Affairs.

Before Megan can decide who to trust, she finds herself framed for Eurion's murder, putting her squarely in the crosshairs of some of the world's most powerful superheroes. Frightened, alone, with only the voice in her head for guidance, Megan has to find a way to rescue Eurion and clear her name, before Eurion's friends hunt her down.

Another great entry in a series that features such rich world building and a cast of unique characters. The LGBTQ representation in these book is amazing and I love how the author has attacked some of the issues she has seemed to side-step in previous installments around the relationship between the Community and government, especially police and police-adjacent entities. I’m excited to see where this world goes after the events of this book!!

Another rich entry in an outstanding superhero universe!

I really hope this isn’t the last installment. I LOVE this whole world and the characters. ;)

I love that our witty dragon finally found a match!

Ms. Bragg has tied all the previous books together in a fantastic 4th book in the series. Ever since I found Scatter, the first book I have followed the series AND LOVE IT!
This story, like the previous books, is well thought out, the characters are full and believable and the whole thing is exciting. I have enjoyed every word of every book. I have a much better understanding of the challenges of Trans women now and I, for one, have found that of the few I have met, they are brave interesting and beautiful, inside and out. That said, the books are a fascinating peek into the world gender challenges faced by courageous people on an almost daily basis. In addition the story opens up a somewhat realistic world I would not mind living in.
I hope this is not the last book in the series, after all there is mention of a couple of characters who's back stories are still unknown. I am looking forward to the next novel in this world building series.

Another fantastic Molly Bragg book

It's hard to believe that the same person who wrote Rapsody and Scatter, also wrote Transistor. After Transistor, I was really down on the series for a long while. I don't know what made me come back to this, but I'm glad I did, as it was a return to the first book's form. The story was engaging, and the performance was outstanding. I didn't love the ending, but I also understood that there was clearly a lot of the author's personal world view coloring the narrative, and I'm a bit sympathetic there, so I won't judge it too harshly. Overall, 8/10. Very good listen.

Big step in the right direction!

I was so happy when this book came out and it had Eurion as one of the main characters!! Megan was also a great character and I loved her backstory. This book has its twist and turns that makes it a great book. If you have been listening or reading the series, who have to give this one a try!! This book was absolutely amazing!

Worst part of these books is always the disappointment that they end. You don’t have to know the other ones to follow each book, but it helps. Get all of them though they are so good.

Great!
