When a mysterious force opens the world to ascension, a young herbalist must cultivate his skills, meanwhile discovering traces of a lost civilization.
It is known as the Day of Awakening. Across the continent, the Heavenly Interface appears, presenting each being with a system to track their skills and quests in the name of achieving their goals. Bandits rise to power, forgotten masters come out of seclusion, and spirit beasts arise from their slumber, drawn to the promise of a new era.
Little do any of them know, it is Kai, a young herbalist from a small village, who was the cause of the Heavenly Interface's introduction. For his accidental awakening of the system, Kai is granted the title of Interface Manipulator, a mysterious role that holds secrets he can only begin to imagine. With his butterfly spirit beast, Tianyi, at his side, he embarks on a journey of cultivation, martial arts, and alchemy.
But in a world where the pursuit of power reigns supreme, Kai's kindness sets him apart. As he begins to grow his skills in the safety of his village, he will start down an extraordinary path to ascension—and discover the secrets of the lost civilization behind the Interface.
The first volume of the hit LitPRG fantasy series—with more than a million views on Royal Road—now available on Kindle, Kindle Unlimited, and Audible!

I don't need super fast improvement but we need something more. this book almost feels like a filler to build the world, and then to actually establish the MC.
it's good and i want the 2nd book, but....

there is also a lot of flowery language in every scene. "I sat down to think. in my mind, my knowledge was a sapling with every idea a leaf. each new contemplation was a rain drop from the vast universe, forcing the sapling to grow into a mighty oak." descriptors like this are too frequent. nothing is seen as important if everything is so overly described.
disappointing story
