About this listen

Janet:

When my career as a dancer is sidelined due to an injury, I have no idea what to do with my life. My best friend, Kaylie, is dating the head of the Devil's Riders, so I tag along when she hangs out at the club. That's when I see him. The one they call the Viking. He never says a word, but his eyes burn into me. He watches out for me, even kisses me, but that's it. The man refuses to take the next step.

I know he wants me. I just need to tip the big guy over the edge. You know what they say about the big ones, right?

Jack:

I'm big and mean, and I don't give a damn about anything but the Riders. But when the feisty redhead shows up with the Prez's old lady, I'm told to watch her. Problem is, I can't stop. I want my eyes and the rest of me on her. She's a pain in the ass, but that doesn't change biology. She's mine for the taking, and I'm going to take her up on the offer. For good. I'm just not sure she can handle what I'm offering her.

Contains mature themes.

Easy Read

Likable main characters, short story, no cheating/angst and little to no drama. The story needs something more substantial. Great narrators.

damsel in distress story

narrarators did a good job with the performance. overall the story consisted of a young damsel in distress who had to constantly be rescued by her knight in shining armor.

MC Fluff

Classic story of stoic brooding protective alpha who rescues his little dainty lady in distress. Character of heroine is a bit dull, as she is an injured ballerina with no prospects after the prima ballerina gig falls through, and even if she says she is strong, the reader has to wonder why she wasn't more resourceful and smarter, like her love interest, who grew up hard into a man who has his own and then some.

Of course, the heroine's failings don't matter because her alpha male thinks she is too good for him, yet it is obvious who is better, as he is set to slay dragons, shelter her, and take care of all she needs; good thing he gets all the nookie in return, eh? But then that's just another plus above average "u know what" for her, in the end. Fantasy.

It was good fluff, like taking half of a happy pill (especially with the decent narration), and though the hero was remarkably believable as a biker, this story was MC Lyte, with minimal plot and character development, not the rough, gritty character-rich MC action, drama & romance I'd prefer.

Ride with the Devil

I love Troy Duran’s voice🫦but not enough to listen🎧📕to another kinda boring MC book. It’s just too blah and not enough spicy fun. Is it worth the credit? Maybe🤔for some people but not for me.

Listen for Troy, story unremarkable

There wasn't anything remarkable about this story. I didn't really feel the connection between the characters and it was a pretty forgettable book. I also felt the writing wasn't too engaging. This would be a two star if not for Troy Duran. If you are interested in this title, don't read it. Listen to the audiobook. That way, if the story disappoints you too, at least you got to listen to Troy.

Kendall Taylor should not perform this type

It's a short story, so I am not expecting well developed characters or plot. It's actually really good for a short story. What knocks it down a star is this woman's voice/performance. Kendall seems to be a decent voice actor but her sound/pitch is not suited for mature, risque, borderline taboo material.
She would be fantastic at children's books!!
With that being said I can no longer continue with this series. I got through the first two but no more. Her voice turns this into something the feels like pedophilia although it isn't.
