About this listen

After being separated from her pack and left for dead, Riley, a fearless American bulldog, teams up with an unexpected ally on her quest to find the final path home. Together they face the harshness of the wilderness, the rage of the "deaders", and the murderous intent of the "two-leggers". Sometimes, man is far from a dog's best friend.

I have listened to all the Riley books and even named my Pitbull Terrier after the series. That's how much I love Riley and the pack. I really hope Mark Tofu writer's more Riley books and soon. 5 stars all around.

Leaves you wanting more and more.

I am assuming this this is the last book in the series, but with Tufo, you never know. The story may not have been as good as others in the series, but I still enjoyed it very much and it ties up lose ends. If you listen to others, you have to finish

Good Conclusion

This series is great, awesome actually, and I'm thankful to have had all the books to read at once.

I started Zombie Fallout many years ago and of course have had to wait for each book to be written.

I could not though bring myself to read a book written from a dog's perspective.
I should have realized my error in judgment when I drug my feet to purchase Indian Hill, (aliens?, really?, lol, now of course my world has expanded to encompass all of Mark Tufos "beings"). Point is after the first book, I was hooked.

But nooooo I didn't budge with The Book of Riley.
It's taken another few years to realize how blind I can be and how that blindness kept me from something good for so many years.
First off, I should have trusted Mark Tufos ability to weave a story.
Secondly, I love animals. I find them so interesting that I like to sit back and simply watch. I already saw that they possess a voice, that they communicate verbally and non verbally.
I'm shocked to have found that I had judged them not to be worthy enough or interesting enough for me to give my time too. Turns out I've been, what?, speciest?

Anyways, thank you Mark for the adventure and for the lesson I discovered. It's been humbling.

I should have trusted Mark long ago!

I love Mark Tufo's zombie series. He does an excellent job of combining goofy humor with terrifying gore. Throw in some mystical woo-woo of both the evil and good varieties, and you've got yourself a great story. I blew through the Riley books in 2 days and loved everything except for the ending of book 4, but that was redeemed in book 5. The talking animals are so much fun and there's a strong parallel of personalities between them and some of the human characters in the main books. I appreciate apocalyptic storylines that have an overall positive vibe without being corny. There's a lot of death, obviously, but it's not hopeless.

Homeward Bound plus Zombies

I thought this was an exceptional follow up to The Book of Riley 4. The animal characters, as always, are wonderful. They have great dialogue (Mark Tufo's voice/personality that he gives the animals is absolutely wonderful). There is of course the dramatic tragedy, a little romance and the reunion of loved ones separated. It is hard to go into detail without spoiling the book but if you like The Book of Riley series you will be happy he followed up book 4 with book 5.

I honestly didn't think I would like a book from the point of view of a dog, but I was wrong. Highly entertaining book, highly recommend!

A book by a dog, who knew...

So glad a fifth was written to finish it off and meld it into the main Michael Talbot storyline
